I started my custom boot installation today (..maybe yesterday, dunno the time, either way it was Saturday)..and I've got most of it complete. I just made the false floor, raised it about 15cm off the bottom of the boot itself...I will be cutting a large hole in the false floor and putting plexiglass/perspex drilled to hinges so I can lift it up. I will be getting black material to cover it soon, not sure whether it'll be carpet, vinyl, leather, or psuade (sp?). Anyways, I'll have to post some pictures tomorrow (or later today), as these god damn Cold/Flu Sleep tablets are kicking in real quick, btw s_tim_ulate, if you read this I hope to make it to Bentleigh tomorrow (today?)...

Edit: Maybe I won't go to Bentleigh tomorrow for the CAASQ thing, been cancelled?
Edit: Pictures below :-)

yeh was cancelled a while back. I dont put the comps into my calendar because they're usually cancelled or rescheduled. Not sure when the next ones going to be.
Will be good to check out ur boot once it's done.
Peace
Tim

Can't wait to see pics. Oh...and enjoy the flu

I pushed the wind away and completed it today, all the wood work is done. All I have to do is wait for the material, and then find a place that has plexiglass/perspex at a reasonable price. Pictures up in the original post, so go back to page 1 and have a look. Feedback welcome too!

Nice install i should be starting mine tomorrow (ekka day off)
hey, is there any specific reason why u want to use perspex?
its rather expensive, and scratches even if u look at it the wrong way. I like glass heaps better. I have a 6mm panel in my boot, i've chucked my shopping, clothing and people's luggage (big items they take when coming back from overseas) on it before, and it hasn't even scratched yet.
if u were Etching, patternmaking, drilling holes etc, then you'd probably be better off using perspex, coz cutting and drilling glass is pretty much impossible to do urself, and glaziers charge u a fair bit too.

Hmm, well, im not even sure whether on what see-through material yet, but I need to drill holes into it because it'll be on a hinge and lift up...isn't glass pretty expensive? and the way I drive im almost certain that the glass would somehow manage to scratch and crack and what not :-)

I'm starting to think that this won't work, if only I knew something about electronics

Whether it'd work or not? Heh, theres still no room for the track to do a full turn, so im going to raise the false floor just under the blue neon, and then have the track runnin on top of the subwoofer box and on the false floor, now another problem is...how the hell do I make sure that the track stays there...

Velcro would work ??
Blu tac may also work but leave stains on the Carpet or what ever you are using.

What do you mean can't fit??
You didn't waste $110 , you now have a reason to get into slot cars..
I am willing to help you out in the planning of this one...
AFX Slot Cars have Traction Magnets.. I can definately help you achieve your Goal..
No room for Corners?? mount them Vertically..
The Thunderloop Thriller has a Wall crawling Section .. It could be used in order to get you a cool set up happening..
PM me with your Plan and I can help out..
