Recently I have bought 2002 Magna Ei (3.5). Only thing wrong is fuel level indicator. When tank is full everything is OK, scale is live, but after 30-40 km simply fall below 0 (empty). Until now I have no chance to check if reserve light is working. Any idea what can be the problem??

sounds like a fuel sender unit problem, mitsubishi had a recall on these so i suggest go to ur dealer and check it out

Definitely it is sender, but now problem is that it is integrated with the fuel pump and is not reasonable (to Expensive) to change complete part. Is this tiny module (picture) available on the market?

I had exactly same problem and like you it ended up being the sender unit in the fuel tank.
If Mistsubishi had a recall on the fuel sender problem( i think they did) then they should fix it for you.
same applies if you still got some warrenty left.

I have exactly the same problem on my 2002 magna ei. when its full it is fine, but after a couple of kms i drops down to empty... the empty tank light works fine though.. so i fill it up whenever the light goes on... kinda anoying, but i can live with it.

I 've got the sender (50 USD) yesterday, and already install (very easy operation). Unfortunately here in Dubai (UAE), they did not accept free replacement.
At list now it is all OK  .

Zohair,
The part (gauge) was bought in Al Hobtoor (Mitsubishi Representative) in Deira (opposite to Hundai Showroom) for 168 Dhs, and fit it myself.
In the same shop you could ask for Mitsubishi member card, free of cost, and can get 40% discount on spares and 20% on labor. Having this it might be reasonable going to official Mitsubishi workshop.
Otherwise, any mechanic should be able to fit the gauge, 15-20 min. maximum time.
Now it is working fine.
