Just wondering how many mufflers a TJ exeutive has? Also I have read on www.autospeed.com that chopping off the rear muffler gives you an extra 15kw on a TH magna sport? Is this true?

Any cars without a rear muffler will yield more power... Nascars don't have mufflers and I think the V8 Supercars do not have as well :D

Just one muffler and the cat, I think.. but next time I am near my car I will have a look :)

The Magna exhaust system consists of a Cat, Resonator (Like a muffler) and a rear muffler

perhaps taking out that "Resonator " will weild more power?

any ques?

Yes Ben it will :D And so does removing the Cat too.... although the EPA will come running up at you for doing it

yer i know about the cat ;) haha. it was gone for a while, but its ok, ive got a new Highflow Cat in its place :P

regarding that resinator, is it illegal to remove, easy to remove? any potental side effects ??

Should be easy to remove, just replace with a section of straight pipe. Side effects may be some drone and a louder exhaust note.

It won't be illegal unless your exhaust becomes 'too loud' as a consequence. Resonators don't do any environmental stuff.

Do they only have the one muffler? Can someone confirm this for me?

You could just take out the CAT, smash it on the ground so that the ceramic lining falls out, then pop it back in! ;)

High Flow Cheap Cheap! :D

Yeeea, do that - and get busted for illegal emission levels!!!

Change the muffler to free flow, low resistance (= noisier) "sports" mufler, like XForce. You can also change the resonators to larger versions to enable better gas flow. There are 2 resonators, one long one in the middle after Cat and another tiny one just before rear suspension.
Unless you manage to buy bolt-on muffler, all this work needs welding - as in, costs more money.
Shop around! 8)

That is what I did for my Silvia hahaha.. cheapest way of getting a high flow cat... but.... the O2 readings went all over the place LOL..

Ok to finalise Damo... from the exhaust manifold, it merges down to a resonator (as big as a cat, noise reduction), then it goes down to the catalytic converter and lastly to the muffler where the exhaust gases goes out to the atmo...

Some luxo cars have more than one resonator.

the resonators are small, and dont have a glass pack box or anything, they are just additions with the same diameter as the pipe... not large like the CAT. That is a muffler you are talking bout.

And which O2 readings? O2 is oxygen, it would be good for the environment...
