Where can I buy some good quality chrome spray paint? I live in South-West Sydney. I dont't want that crappy stuff that you need re-spray occasionally. I've tried Supercheap Auto but could not find the good stuff. I want to chrome the grill and outside part of my mirrors of my TF Magna.

you generally have to get this done by the pro's. Im not 100% sure what its called or who does it but its a proces involved where they chrome plastics, its not a paint, plastics are dipped in it... something along those lines...

Keep in mind its not particularly cheap...

I've seen a few people spray plastic parts with that "chrome" paint and it usually turns out woefull.

If your gonna go chrome you need a pro to do it, it's not worth the risk.

The process you're thinking of blake is called chrome plating. It involves electrolytically (?) bonding the chrome finish to the plastic. Check out www.finishing.com. I'm not sure of Australian companies that do it, but I remember seeing a whole pile of them in the yellow pages a while ago, So that'd be the first place to look.

It's Pretty much the best way to get something to look chrome without having to use that tacky looking spray on paint. Not sure on the pricing though.

All chrome paint is crap! Believe me, paint is my job!

It's all just varying levels of "silver" paint. Don't be fooled by the chrome looking lids..they've been chrome plated in the process described previously.

Anyways, best to get it done properly. :)

I only use chrome paint on my little daily driver exhaust tip (so it looks new) :b It's shocking stuff, about as good as the 'plastic fake intercooler ' invention.

I've looked into plastic chroming and as far as I've been told, there are only ocmpanies on the eastern sea board that do it. If you go to any Auto Wank (Salon), you're bound to find out where you can get it done as most of the cars would have it done.

Use normal chroming places for metal chroming. Make sure you use ar reputable business (even though they usually have extensive turn around times) as some businesses do not do it properly. You can tell by looking at the chromed piece - if it's yellowy, then it hasn't had enough chrome coverage. The yelow is the copper/ brass (?) used as an 'under coat'.

Here's some useless trivia for 1:30am - steel becomes stainless when it has 33% chromuim added. I'm sad aren't I? :)
