Hi all does anyone have an idea why the coil keep’s dyeing on me…??? In the last 3 months I’ve changed 4 coil's...

Never had one of those coils fail on me... :)
What's the voltage going to them?
Maybe your voltage regulator is shot and the alternator is overcharging;
feeding the coil overvoltage will shorten their lifespan.
(symptoms:- coil gets very hot, battery water keeps disappearing)
Are you buying OEM spares?

My brother did say to check the alternator... I guess I'll have to check that before I move any futher...

do the 1st gens use a ballast resistor ?
As you may be using the wrong coils

no I don't think I'm using the wrong coil, when I bought the car it had the same one on it...

How are all your leads? if you have a short in them at all it can fire back accross the primary side of the coil, if i remember rightly, its been a while since i have played with coils
Edit, sorry about the previous post i thought you had a 1st gen not a 2nd gen, i was thinking about someone else :redface: :redface:

if they are pretty old, get a multimeter and check continuity and resistance
