Hello audio fans, I have a few amp questions I am sure you can help me with.

I am looking at a JL Audio e4300 amp, with a Sony CDX 7710 HU.
How does the amp rate in this price range. What is Class "e"?
I like the features of the Sony Hu, and it measures the same as stock std, the colour matches also, so it should fit and blend in well. I don't like those HU's that don't fit the original space.

Is there a means of using my current HU,for a while (by dropping the output to the amp),

and buying a HU later.

On ebay the JL Audio sells for $424 and the Sony HU sells for $389.

I'd suggest you stay clear of Sony products, just personal experience, many will agree. Even though it matches your colour, does that really mean you want poor quality, in terms of sound and build? Just my opinion, something to think about eh?

Also, class e? Not sure, perhaps you mean Series "E", which are Class AB. Correct me if im wrong someone?

All headunits are either DIN or double DIN. Its a standard size. Anyway I dont mind Sony's headunits at all. Not too bad for the price.

But I wouldnt buy anything else Sony for my car at least.

Pretty sure this amp is Class AB not Class E.

Which just means it will happily run full range signals.

Yes it is a Class AB and it does take high level inputs, so it looks like I can use my std HU for a while and upgrade later.

Any improvement is exciting, I am sure I will like it
