Where has everyone connected there neons to? Behind the cigerette lighter? Is it ok to run 4 tubes of it.

ive currently got 2 30cm neons and my EL dials running off this wire and havnt had any issues.
The Wire you are after is Blue ( Positive ) and Black is the negative.
anything that you wire up to these wires will only be able to be turned on when you have your keys in the ignition and its turned to acc. or if the car is on.
its my beleif that if you draw to much power the fuse will simply blow ? feel free to correct me on that anyone.
Make sure you get a good solid connection by soldering the wires together also make sure u use plenty of Electrical Tape and cover up any exposed wires, including the negative.
Once you start modifying your cars standerd circutry by adding neones and what not its probably a good idea to carry a small fire extinguisher in you car at an easy to get location, these are available from most hardware / motorshops for around $30
Any modification you do to your car, you are responsible for, and are taking full responsibilty of any injuries and damages that may occur.

you could also use the wires for the light inside the ash tray (if you didn't want to load up 1 set of wires) I've used them to run my led's inside the footwells of the car and the sound actuation device that makes em flash when the bass goes 'boom'

Yeah i was already going to get one.
and whatever you do,, dont put it (fire extinguisher) in your boot. seriously! people who put them there drive me crazy.. particlarly since fires start at amps and messy wiring in the boot, your not really going to want to open the boot, and stick your hands in for an extinguisher.

Where abouts in the cabin is the best place to put a fire extinguisher.

the right hand side of the tranny tunnel is actually in the drivers footwell, not the passengers and u dont want it there it will get in the way of driving,
in the passenger footwell u just look like a major ricer. try and mount it under the driver or passenger seat, out of the way and out of view but easy to get to in a hurry.

i have mine just in front of the drivers seat ... nice and easy access to it if anything decides to go wrong
Damnit, i think i've been wanting to get a fire extinguisher for like, 8 months now :bowrofl:
Still haven't got one yet though :doubt:
Back to the wiring....if u piggy back off the current ciggie lighter circuit, it will be fine. I had 4 tubes and 3 LEDs running off that- oh, and a light-up switch, and it all went fine.
Remember to fuse the power wires to ur neons just in case- get a 3 dollar in-line fuse. They carry pathetically small amounts of current, so what....5A fuse will probably be fine  Find out how much they draw.
If u really wanted to be fancy, use a relay.
