ok guys and girls. i used to have an eclipse deck, with alpine amp and 2 12" alpine subs with pioneer 6x9s and stock front splits. but since selling the verada to my brother with all that in it, i now have a vrx with a stock setup.
i was just wondering what peoples thoughts were for a new system. amp, subs, front splits, rears and deck?

im looking for quality brand names, maybe prices and what people opinions are for me to look at. im not fussed with cross matching brands.
im prolly looking for something that sounds good inside the car and has some real BOOM in the bass like my old subs.
any suggestions ppl?

cheers
- Chris

kicker, maybe i'm biased but two 12 solobarics would go off.

Deck: Alpine
Fronts:Hertz,Boston, Alpine or Focal
Rears: Optional Same as above

The market is huge and taste vary.. It would be wise to give us alittle more Back ground such as music taste, Boot space available and Budget..
Indash or Stacker, MP3 or DVD, TV or no TV..

definetly go get 1x18 inch kicker SoloX sub. They have also released the amps to go with them. Massive bass out of these babys.

The DD is not a SQ sub, Their designed to play LOUD (for comps etc) unless you buy their new SQ series, 9112, buut that cost over 1 grand.

You said you want SQ so stay away from the DD sub unless your prepaird to pay 1k for their 9112.

For subs look at JL audio, phoenix gold, image dynamics... just try to stay away from kenwood, sony etc

would disagree with you there about DD

tim has a DD 3512 i think and he is winning SQ comps

also he said good sounding not SQ but that is subjective what SQ too you may not be what SQ is to me

also i kept in mine how much he wanted to spend

nah, tim has a DD2012 or something...or was it a DD1012  not sure, but the point is that he has two of them! (can't leave out the good ol' wank factor :P)

Well, for heavy rock stuff, I definatly wouldn't go and get an 18" sub :bowrofl: I have a DD2515 (15") in a ported box, and it does get a little laggy during them punky-double kick songs.

Phoenix gold tantrums, boston G5s, eclipse, image dynamics, JL, diamond (my latest fettish), audison, xtant and a/d/s are just a few brands i can think of this minute.

You'd want to go towards a good SQ sub and amp setup, as heavy metal requires. If not, you'd have this constant, blurred rumble that sounds more like me throwing up.

Concentrate on your sub/amp, front speakers and sound deadening. get these right and you'll be lauging.
