hi guys, im wondering if my high rpm missfire is a fuel delivery problem so i was just thinking about installing a fuel pressure regulator but i really dont know a lot about them. from what i gather from a quick read on the internet, i can put a cheap one in the fuel return line and set it to say 3psi and this will only let fuel return to the tank when its reaching this pressure. is this correct ? what does everyone else know about them.
would this one on ebay be suitible for my application ?

No Point On Carby Motor Check Pressure From Pump

this one is designed for carby setup, it fits on your return line to maintain pressure to the carburettor.
the reason i think i need it is because the carby is diff from standard and also sits higher than standard. sometimes under WOT in 3rd gear the revs build but at around 4000rpm it starts to totally loose power, it feels like running out of fuel. same revs same gear but half throttle and it doesnt do it. in first and 2nd it doesnt do it either.
what i think is happening is under hard acceleration at WOT the fuel just doesnt get to the carby, keeps running down the return line and the empties the carburettor bowl of fuel. so by putting in this FPR in the return line it will keep the fuel there at a consistent pressure.
