if ur keeping ur air box then u need a k&n panel filter 100-150$ autobarn. and then uneed 90-100mm flexi hose by a meter bout 10$ bunnings. storm plumber connector 90mm 10$. and hookin up is not hard pretty common. the plumber connector goes to ur air box where ur standard snorkel attach(this apply wen u take ur snorkel off) and the rest goes with it.
looks like this setup:

thanks dark magician, thats more wat i was after, cos i was just planning on using a k & n panel filter so with those tubes, i just run those down to the front bumper on the passenger side??? do i have the other end of the pipe in hole for driving lights(as i have none) or under the bumper near the towing eye?

Attach it to the drving light position as its less likely to get water in it and you might get some positive pressure from speed. Also its better not to use the silver tubing but rather the black wire ribbed tube as it doesnt compress under suction. Finish it off with the plumbing adaptor onto the stock airbox and youre done.

thanks for the info champ..i think ill go out and get the gear so i can do that asap, so how do i secure the flexi hose in the hole for the driving lights? also where can i pick up a k&n panel filter? just at places like super cheap auto or do i need to go to a more specialist place? and with the plumber connector..does that fit inside the original hole where the snorkel attached? hold that in place with a tie like the silver one in ur pic? sorry being a pest lol im slow when it comes to this stuff

Just mushing up the pipe to stuff it into the driving light hole should be enough to keep it there permanently.
Supercheap or Autobarn, or any other type shop, should be able to do you the K&N panel. They may not keep stock though so call ahead.
Plumbing connector does go into the stock snorkel hole I believe, and the hose clamp in the pic keeps the tube attached to the plumbing adapter. I don't think you need anything special to get the adapter to stay in the airbox.

All the third gen magnas use the same filter type. But if you want to be specific, the part number is: 33-2151

will i notice much difference in performance or sound from my engine if i dont have any other mods done? cos this cai and k&n panel filter will be the only mods done to my 5 speed TH exec

if u want a bit of induction noise then take off ur resonator on ur air intake and replace it with milk cap. the resonator is the black plastic mould shape like an apex

No matter what mods you wouldn't feel a massive difference. There probably will be a difference but it will be subtle, and mostly at the top end.
