Hey guys just curious if anyone knows if the original tacho ca be piggy backed from to install a maonster tacho? i was curious if anyone has done this in a TE or and 3rd gen magna and is it hard?

Why bother?? Monster Tacho's are so 90's
Just get a Shift light kit installed into your factory Dash.. Would look far better..

i know your askin for help n all but seriously mate the standard tacho is big enough!

and as for shift lights, unless its in a 9sec drag car..........get to know your car better,it'll tell you when its time to shift and it'll save you lookin like a tryhard

its time to shift when it wont rev any harder just hold ya foot on carpet computer will tell you when to change

on your ignition coil you can piggy back off that..i did it with mine...

peel back the black tape.there is a white wire that is thicker than the others...thats the one that sends the signal.

then all you have to do it get active and earth

i am also looking to wire in a tacho...., jared, what engine are you talking about, 2.6L, 3.0L or the 3.5L?, my coil is built into the distributer and has around 6 wires coming out of it, is this what you are talking about?

u can splice into the crank angle sensor wire which from memory is a blue wire with a redline (dont quote me though), this will give the rpm signal only

Open the bonnet and look to the left hand side of the plenum, u should see a black connector box which is bolted to it, this is where the wire is located and runs into the car to the ecu

why do u need another tacho.....you got a perfectly good one in there at the moment
