Anyone out there had any dramas with diif (in transaxle) whine? Mine whines a bit and mechanic said could be worn pinions in transaxle diff. I think this problem also causes a front end vibration problem. Any ideas ........? 95 v6 TS

i get abit of this (i believe) in between 1-2k rpm where i do most of my driving; doesnt really whine but sounds scratchy and unclassy so i hate it

Yeh it ****s ya off doesn't it..... The whine i get is pretty much around 60 to 80 k's and is not too loud but it's the vibration that really pisses me off!! I'm getting my audio system installed soon so the noise won't be a problem for much longer!! hehehe

Could be CV joint too.... although everything seems ok, the boots aren't cracked and it doesn't rattle going around corners but the mech also said the ball races in them may have worn a track around the housing and when a slight load is applied the ball or whatever it is is trying to take up the slack and sort of moves in an elyptical type of movement i guess!!! Makes sense but i just want to hear any feedback from others that may have had this problem before i shell out megabucks for squat!!

mines gearbox/ diff definately; i sometimes listen to no music so i can just hear my car (cause it sounds awesome); i can only really here that sound when its bouncing of cars drivers side but the exhaust covers it abit. It then goes at 2grand then i got 4k more rpm to play with so yeah... im strange
