hi, i've been cruising around these forums for about half and hr now and i couldn't find any info about fitting newer tj rear lights onto a tf. i know the boot wont match up with the head lights but i have access to a boot of a newer magna at my wreckers.

also will the centre console from a tj fit into a tf?? cause i like the looks of it.

For your sake I hope your boot never meets your headlights. There are only very small shape differences between the two sets of tail lights and the TJ ones should fit without having to change your boot.

cheers..The centre consoles from both my previous TE Advance and my current TJ Sports are exactly the same. Not just the general shape, I'm not sure I see why you would prefer one over the other.

hey man i know that the TH model magna(basically same i think) fit perfectly into the original spots of a TF magna....the boot dosnt match up but not by much....

i like everything to be flush and exact. the wrecker guys told me i can swap my boot for theirs, they had taken the spoiler off so i'll have to fill in the hole (which is a piece of cake)

as for the centre console, the one at the wreckers has an lcd display for the like the fan a/c and all that.. so i'm assuming id have to take the control pannel as well as the centre console. i just wanna know if it'll fit the connectors on my tf.

yes the lights will fit and so will the boot lid....

with the lcd display, its not as easy as just switching over, if it is climate control then i think there is some sensors some where u'll have to get too

Considering its the same shape as the non climate models, could you not just clip out the climate control unit and clip in the non climate one?

non climate control has circles cutout for the controls. climate control is a great big square. unless you wire up climate control to your car then you cant do the swap.

the boot will have to be changed to fit TJ tail lights, the TE-TH boot is more of a 2-piece, with a crease along the middle, where the TJ is more like the VY-VZ commodores, where its flat and a smaller numberplate indent.

i doubt the centre console will fit though, especially the climate control and trip computer, although please prove me wrong as i'd love a TL one ;) you can however take the section around the gear selector if u dont have cup holders!
