kinda worried... anyone experiencing vibration from the engine when the car is stationary... esp when you've just started it? u can feel the dash vibrating ... but it kinda dies down later as the engine warms up (doesnt go away though). The vibration stops when i put it in N or P

It just shouldn't vibrate like this ... given it's age (4 yrs old with <30,000 kms on the clock)

i have a feeling it's to do with my bolt ons... have extractors, straight thru muffler etc. Coz i bagan noticing it as i put the mods in. Would a piggyback ECU fix the problem i.e. optimise tune of the engine and make it run smoother?

any feedbac appreciated!

In my experience nearly all autos vibrate if you sit stationary with your foot on the brake and the car in D, because it's trying to drive forward against the friction of the brakes.

Gauge your idle quality against how it goes in neutral or park :D

Well the smartest thing to do is use the SEARCH button ^ Right above us and type in 'Idle' & 'Vibrate' ETC.

Also check out the Other open forum 'Idles like a Truck' for ideas.

cheers

thanks... guess there ain't much i can do except mayb play around wit the idle screw

but would a piggyback ECU actually improve this vibration at all??

Check your engine mounts if this has only started recently. Also look at your idle speed to check that it's not dipping too low (<500rpm) when in drive, as you may have issues with idle speed or the control motor.

Im guessing your car is just cold, especially because you say it happens when you turn the key.

Its probably a normal thing, its just the engine idling a bit higher to prevent it from stalling.
