How much u looking to spend?

Will you be planning on upgrading to a sub or maybe an amp for your speakers later on? Or just looking for a cheap speaker upgrade?

i think id go for speaker upgrade first..prob have about 400 for fronts and rears..will that get me good ones or wat? run them off the head deck cos its pretty good, than save up again and a sub and amp combo

If I were you, I'd probably forget the rears at the moment, and put in some nice Hertz HSK-165 splits, 6.5" splits, for around $350. Probably expensive to you (considering you only have $400 at the moment) but you will not be disappointed. To put it bluntly, I'd rather a set of Hertz over Focal anyday.

I just installed a new HU Pioneer DEH-P5750MP and splits Focal Polyglass 165V2 (front stage) in my Magna. Problem is i don't find it that great since the stock rear speakers (6"x9") the dragging the whole system back. They start to crack everytime i blast the stereo a little bit louder. Any suggestion?

fade out the back speakers..let your fronts do all the sound, for the moment.

good on fezza for JVC, i just had my JVC KD SHX705 installed last week with some MTX thunder series 6inch speakers for front, and kenwood 250w 6*9's. Go well...on certain songs...other songs leave alot to be desired though. i plan for a 4x50w RMS amp to boost up my sound.

stick to ya nice brands unless you plan for something big later ( as iam...hence the $90 kenwood rears ). focal/hertz/MTX/alpine/eclipse/clarion etc etc. Might cost more, but your paying for a quality build and crisp sound.

Fezza, I have the Very same Deck and I am not even bothering with Amping my fronts or Rears as you are right they sound so good...

Judging from your Profile you have a 3RD gen so, Best fronts would be 6.5inch (17cm) Splits.
Rears are 6x9's and you have a Big boot for a Nice sub install.
Now..
It depends on what kind of System do you want to have in this car..
Everyday Cruising system with Front Splits, 6x9's down back and a Sub in the boot or do you want an SQ system which Emphasis on high Quality Fronts, no Rears and a Sub in the boot...

Give us a Budget on how much you want to spend, what music you like to listen to and are you going to install it yourself??

Best setting on my Deck would be Rock or Jazz with the Loud On..

use the Fader and set it all to the front for a hollow sounding system... 4 speakers are better then 2 unless you have really crappy rear speakers...

They're still stock rears atm hence the crap sound.

Stock Rears sure are not the Best in the World but don't sound too bad when you send them a decent signal..
Most people are very happy just to replace the factory headunit with a more powerful one... In Magna's it is the Headunit that is the problem the rest of the gear is OK..

Agree! Quite surprised at 3rd gen's speakers too.

Pumping 208W into stock speakers and stock wiring, amazed the wiring is holding up well.

(not 1st gen... got 3W tinnies in those. God we SMOKED them good!! )

208 MAX, the most youll get out of one of the headunits is probably 20W a channel, they just do that so it makes it sound flashy.

your system is not 208W, but more likely between 72-82 watts. sorry to be a bummer :P
