Im in need of some new valve stem seals and got a quote by mechanics next to my work yesterday...

they said the actual valve seals themselves were only $45... but quoted me $485 for the job cuz of labour etc etc... now thats a little bit more than I want to pay.

Just wondering if you guys knew of any decent mechanics in perth who could do it a LOT cheaper than this price? As I heard guys paying only $180 for them to be done etc... wondering where I would go for getting them down round the $200 mark...

Mine cost me something around $350 but thats in Melb

I just paid $140 including labour here in melbourne.

the cordia that i once owned cost me 160 to have the valve stem seals done by visccos (russle st morley) brilliant job! dont go to anyone who says they cant change them without taking the head off! there are tools that can hold the valve in place while they take the springs out! shouldnt cost more than $250! anymore and tell them where to go!
