Hey guys... was just wondering how to carry out an auto trans flush/change oil. I found the drain plug but cant seem to locate anywhere to put the oil into. I can only see the dipstick for checking trans oil level and thats all. Any help + pics of location is much appreciated guys. .s. do I need to change the fuel filter at all ? Can t seem to locate that either.... p.s. my car is an 93 TR 2.6L

Get a little funnel and connect it to 2' of PVC tube.
Fuel filter should be changed regularly, more often if you always buy cutprice fuel.
Should be located near the steering column on the firewall...?

Thanks for the advice ... saw replacement fuel filters at super cheap auto but the thing that i located does not look anyhting like the replacement fuel filter. Its metal instead of plastic... is what i am looking at correct ? Any instructions for a change? Does the auto trans require a filter change like the engine oil filter does ?

I'm told Auto trans filter is built into the unit, its a big gauze rectangle nearly A4 size.
You'll have to drop the trans sump and it also acts as the gasket.
Some ppl splice the oil cooler pipe to install an external inline filter (~$20?).
Magna's stock fuel filter on the 1st gen is a huge metal cannister (~$40?).
Not those dinky little egg-sized $5 plastic inline thingys.

Do i need any special tools to remove the auto trans oil filter ? So correct me if i am wrong but first remove the drain plug and let the oil drain out. Then remove the few screws holding the sump from underneath and it just fall off ? I saw the replacement trans oil filter at super cheap and its big. So i just fit it directly onto the trans oil sump and replace it then refill the oil thru the dipstick. Does all of that sound about right ?

Best to refer to your workshop manual.
Tranny might have to be drained when warm/hot or something.
Also don't forget the tranny oil cooler - that thing holds quite a bit of fluid.
If you've planning on doing it yourself, you usually end up needing about 2x capacity of fluid.
Use only the correct Mitsubishi fluid, nothing else... and that's not cheap.
