Just a small nothing question
well it is something
they call it MPI
so tell me how many points of injection is their in the fuel delivery system for these MPI manags, especially my stock 96 ts?
just 2 id presume?
And for something that makes more sense
Its just the same effect that twin Carbys have over a single carby on a realy car?
that is all
to my understanding, multi point fuel injection, like on the magna i own is one injector per cylinder.
The only other kind of injection ive heard of is throttle body, or centre point fuel injection where there is only the one injector that feeds the fuel rail to all the cylinders.
Twin carbies give more petrol and air, so it isnt the same. MPI just ensures the fuel is injected exactly as the cylinder opens, and is injected right near the valve itself.
So no they arent the same.

Mitsu calls it "EFI MULTI".
AstronII's fuel rail feeds 4 injectors, straight into the induction manifold.
Non-EFI Astrons have standard carburettors, nothing too electronic about them.
if you want to be pedantic, mitsu actually calls it ECI MULTI meaning Electronically Controlled Injection

There are several types of injection
Sequential mean all injectors fire indepent of each other (ie magna's tr onwards)
Group injection, means a group of injectors will fire, early EFI falcons had this system
Throttle Body Injection (toilet bowl injection) which again early falcons had in the ea etc, this is a very basic injection, more an electronic carby. Cordia's also used this in the Turbo models.

TBI :bowrofl:
Multi point injection in most petrol engines also places the injector beside the head. this prevents more fuel being delivered to some cylinders over others, eg an old holden 6cyl with a carby will run rich on cylinders 3 and 4 which are beside the carby and lean on all others which are supplied fuel and air through longer runners.
