hey guys and gals
looks like ive finnally decided on a head unit.
http://www.pioneeraus.com.au/car_entertainment/cdtuners/deh2750mp/index.html
$200 at WOW sight and sound (Installing it myself tho..they wanted 85 bucks to do it plus 75 per speaker :gtfoslap: )
ive seen this HU in quite a few cars so there must be a bit of public opinion floating around for it..so has anyone heard anything about it? good/bad stories?

I think you'd be better off coughing out a bit more and get at least DEH-4750MP onwards, especially if you have plan to improve your sound system in the near future. I just bought DEH-P5750MP for $300 myself. Compare the specs. That might help.

well dude, it has MP3 etc so it aint that bad.
but id pay like eddie said, around 300 or more, and get something with at least 2 RCA's and one sub output.
plus get something that doesnt look so cheap, IMHO they look a little cheap, the kenwoods look a bit more classy and sleek (be quite magnat :P ).
in the cheap range i mean.
but yeah, save a bit more dosh and get some quality feautres in your HU
good luck mate

I had the 2002 version of this model, in a commodore with pioneer coaxials and panasonic 6x9's all for like $450 not installed. I now drive a magna and am looking at alpine/eclipse with mbquart/PG/focal speakers. The set up in the commoodore sounded crap just before it got loud enough to drive with all the windows down, and it was the amplifier in the pioneer deck clipping the larger signal. The speakers could have handled more, but the deck was giving out a bit of a crap signal.
If it's your first cd player, its probs a good entry level unit. If you want a good reliable deck for the same price that I think will perform much better, check out the $200-$250 alpine range.
Thats my opinion, and that the alpine's look trick, It'll work fine, but alpine would probably sound better. If you want better sound in the future, it'll amp up easilly and will handle larger speakers.

I no longer have any plans for a sub after being in a car with mate who got pulled over having his barely on...
once i get my 6x9s in the back and the 6" in the doors thats it..no more money on audio, so i dont have plans to upgrade after that since theyre all going in at once.
after going in at seeing it in the flesh, it doesent look cheap and I quite like the look, but everyone has different tastes i spose
im not really too keen on spending any more that 200 on a HU unless in has an AUX in..im having trouble justifying spendinf 500 on audio as it is :S

All pioneers can get aux in. You can make up an adapter for around $5. The deck you are looking at should be fine if your not looking at too much; its got mp3 and you can hook an amp to it later if you really feel the need.
