Just wondering, I read that the 3rd gens have 6" speakers in the front. I hope someone can confirm this before I go out a buy them.
Thanks in advance. :rofleek:

Cool. I was also wondering what size it is exactly. Gonna get myself some brand new speakers to replace those ****ty stock ones.

A C T U A L L Y... they're 6" speakers in a squared-circle shaped frame - so the best replacement fit is either a 6.5" or a 6" with the 6.5" 'adapter' prongs on the outside rim (see pic)

Either will fit... 6 and 6.5 are basically the same size. Either way, ul want to mount them onto MDF baffles over the standard plastic crap
do u have a template kinda thing on how to make up a some MDF baffles?

They only cost $7 from most car audio places if u cbf... Otherwise, measure ur speaker, measure the holes and cut out something big enough to accomodate both.
A better solution is to replace the whole plastic part with mdf. A bit tedious and will require drilling and lots of jigsaw work.
Just trace around the old plastic part, taking note of the indentations and cutting them out as well. Line up and mark the holes from the original mount.
I used 12 mm mdf for mine. Works a treat.
Remember to paint the back (using any paint u can find) just to keep the water out.
Peace

6" will bolt straight into the indents provided, I've had 2 sets of 6", 6.5" and the stockies in there. Either will fit!
