Well, after finding out i'm alloud 1 mod from AAMI, I have gone over the pro's and cons of each, and have decided that I'm gonig to lower the car. So anyway, I email pedders for a quote - i heard they're very good - and these are the prices i get back, for King Spring super lows
Springs (pair): $164.00 ($328 for all round)
Shocks: $648 all round
Fitting: $220
Wheel Alignment: $55
Total: $1251
Now, I'm nto sure where I got the figure from, but I was only expecting $800-$900, can you guys reccomend a better place, or does this look about right?

The standard shocks will work for a while, though it is recommended to replace both at the same time. saves on labour aswell. Give philcom a try there not to badly priced and they give discounts to members.

Yeah, I'm the kinda person that likes to do it right the first time around, so i'd get the shocks done aswell.
Do you have contact details for Philcom?

You could get all the components seperately then take them to a suspension place to be fitted.
You can get all the parts from Phillcomm with shocks costing about 500 and springs about 250.
Or you can buy Wtchme's old Konis and king spring combo.
It depends on what u want basically.

dude get the springs lows rear and superlows rear approx $260 the set from repco you dont need new shocks. give me $50 and ill put them in for you at rhinos shop and then the price for wheel alingment all up around $370-$380. and she will look nice and if your realy worried about the superlows in the front. get the lows but they will look higher in the front.
pedders charge more for kings because they want to sell there own and not there main competitions brand. let me know mate or just drop her off and rhino and my self will look after it for yah.
this superlows and lows compressed 1 1/2 inches but aami will not allow that but normal kings they will.

camber kit is not needed in my opinion mine is lower and all my tyres have even wear on them i have no prob with camber just make sure the wheel alingment is done right.

A very shortcut way of doing things, and definately would not be in the interests of good car handling. It would be fine for an Autosalon appearance, but I would never drive a car that has had this work done to it because it would have very poor handling, bordering on dangerous.

hahaha ill take you out some time and i will show you some time.
i have replaced my shocks thank you they are lowered shocks and have great travell
and do not ever suggest someones car is bordering on dangerous when you dont know the car in question!!!
the car is properly done without all garbage that is not needed ( alot of products sold in places like pedders and the such is crap and not realy needed)
and for your info the car is at legal height and roadworthy and insured as such.
do not jump to conclusions my car is as safe as any car out on the road (lol not the old rust buckets either) it has to be i carry 3 of my kids in the thing!!
/ of rant.
p.s i did say in the post if you read it properly that what i did was not for him!! his not going as low as me so wont need to change shocks that is why.

The issue is not whether you have replaced the dampers or not, but that you have reduced the ride height by so much. Superlows are already lower than preferred (they are cosmetic springs), and you're compressing them even further.
When a strut runs out of travel due to a bump, it will cause that corner of the chassis to deflect upwards and upset traction on the other corners. When a strut runs out of travel due to hard cornering, the tyre will then skate across the road surface (similar to running extremely thick antisway bars). This is why Karts and F1 cars are so edgy, because they have no suspension travel at all.
Also, it is not only due to the change in operating range that you would change a damper when you change springs, it's also because you then need a stiffer bump/rebound damping rate when going to a lowered and firmer spring. He even said that he didn't want to take shortcuts in getting this done anyway.
Alignment products such as camber strut bolts etc aren't a necessity but definately give a marked improvement if you want to get the best out of the car. The only reason why they aren't fitted as standard to our cars is that the majority populace isn't going to notice the benefit (and the more levels of adjustability anything has, the greater the potential for incorrect adjustment). E.g. OEM wheel alignment specs allow +/- 30mins camber left/right variance which is atrocious IMHO.
FWIW following your car a couple of months ago on a cruise, the rear of the car looked very nervous over the slightest bumps and dips in the road.
