Went CRAAAAZY listening to tapes and the radio. Its a Pioneer DEH-P7750 and it cost me $380 with shipping. Ive heard thats not a bad price for that kind of deck.

That be it there^^

I also wanted to ask a question. Im not getting this speaker crap. I was going to grab the Pioneer Professional ones (reputable seller on eBay, cheap too!), but one of my friends are saying they will sound crap. Im not sure if its a jealousy thing because he bought the cheapies for his car. I also dont get what splits are and all that jazz. Its slowly driving me insane!

And what am I looking at when I buy speakers? Isnt peak related to subs? Do I look at Watts or RMS?

Thanks in advance guys. I so bloody confused about this at the moment.

For speakers you want to look at RMS ratings. But since you are using these off the headunit (I assume u wont be upgrading to an external amp??) most speakers will be able to handle the ~20w rms that ur headunit puts out (~50 w x4 peak)

So best bet is to get out there and listen. The speakers that will be the loudest, given the limited power supply of ur headunit, wont be the ones that have the highest RMS rating, but the ones that are most sensitive.

Sensitivity ratings are the db SPL that a speaker will put out with 1 watt going into it. Sensitive speakers are generally above 91 db. So look for something like this.

Avoid cheap stuff eg Sony, dominator, avalanche etc.

Any 6" or 6.5 " will fit.

Peace

Tim

Ill be upgrading to external amp and maybe 2 smallish subs in the future. I just want to get speakers and deck out of the way first.

I was given 2 6x9 Alpine Type S's, but one has a dodgy connection and it fuzzles. Either dodgy or blown. Theyre in the car right now, but Im considering going for Pioneer Pro gear for 6x9's in the back and 6's in the front. Im wondering though for the front, theres 2 sets. And one is a lot more expensive than the other.

Theres these 6's, that are way more expensive.

And these ones that arent as expensive.

And these are the 6x9's.

Are these a good choice, and if not what brand and model should I be chasing?

Thanks for all the help guys. You all rock.

Just remember these guys arent australian at all. They import from se asia. So no warranty, they only protect against DOA issues, and ul most likely be slugged with import taxes.
