Hey there - ive heard the top of the line clarion splits and theyre not bad at all...BUT if you spend just a little more you can get some really sweet splits (like Focal etc...)
If the MTX are the same price that could be interesting coz historically their stuff has bin pretty awesome but i dont know which model you r referring too... what do u prefer from listening to them and the clarions???
IMHO i think Jaycar amps are great - awesome value for money but i dont really rate their splits..
... hope this helps a little

I personally dont like the jaycar splits. They lack a huge amount of midrange.
Their amps a pretty sweet though.
Dont know about the other splits you mentioned though.
Save for a bit longer and get a pair of Morels or Hertz or Focals or something. I did and Im glad I saved for that little bit longer.
Cheers

I've never heard of the mtx speaker set up before, i like their durability and general quailty though.
But if it sounds anything like the earthquake splits forget about it, worst splits for buck ever.

Give us your Budget then we can sort out a set that will suite your taste.
In general MTX tend to be Bass heavy splits and require decent power behind them and usually have large Magnet Structures which could interfere with the Window mechanism.
Clarion's Budget end of Splits are not to bad for the money , but as for their High end, there are better ones out there for the money..
Jaycar, the Kevlar splits are essentially a Base model Split with a Kevlar cone allowing Supposedly better Bass response and less sonic resonance.. ( Artificial Noise) but I have not heard them in actiion to comment on if it is true or not...

The Jaycar speakers are terrible in my opinion, give us your budget and it'd make it alot easier for help to be given. Either way, the best value for money splits in my opinion are the Hertz HSK-165 (6.5" splits).
