I am hopefully buying myself a 1994 Magna. i don't know much info about i will have to wait to see it, all i do know is it is a 4 cyl manual. But i would like to know of where you can get custom t/lights or h/lights. or any other custom parts.

For custom head lights, you can buy KS verada parabolics. They look much better. They are between $250 - $500 2nd hand, or $450 each new from mitsu. Look on ebay, thats where I got mine. As for tail lights, nothing custom for the 2nd gens unfortunately (although I have a project on the drawing board for my wagon...), but the sedan verada tail light apparently have white/grey instead of yellow plastic for the indicators. Bodykits: many around. SSV (www.ssv.com.au) make side skirts and a front lip that attaches to front bar, but for $383 for the lip, I wouldnt bother. The diamonte's had a similar front bar to ours, but had fog lights. Keep you eye out, one pops up every now and then

Thanks Fuzz i will keep that in mind. and marcy D i would get a V6 but i can't find one in the N.T in my price range it is my second car so i don't wont to be paying a fortune in fuel. but i like the look of 2nd gen magna's and i just wont to make it look pretty good. i found a place in new zealand that can do me up a custom grill and just "pretty up" the t/lights but when i get it i will post a pic and make a website to make a record of it's progress.

Ive been told the V6 and 4 cyl have fairly similar fuel consumption, but the V6 has much more power than the 4

i have a couple of mods and i get as good as or better fuel consumption than all the 4's on here i believe....the 6 is a much better engine.... so torquey, eg i sit on 1500rpm up fairly steep hills no worries...make sure the k's are low and service history and get a check by a mechanic....
4cylinder fuel consumption is absolutely shithouse!!
Our TR uses $60 in fuel a week for 400 - 450km's (driving it sedately). It uses the same amount of fuel my VRX used (and i flogged it everywhere) to use with half the power.

well i found out it is a TS. i think it maybe either a GLX or SE (leaning towards SE). i have a few pics i took of it, if someone could spread some light on what it is then please do so. it is getting a full overhaul during the week and i am picking it up this saturday (it is 350km away), that is if i want it after going for a test drive.

My bad it is most likely a GLX

In that case you have just purchased the carbie version :D
However as with anyone else, I'd recommend trying to find one with a V6. The V6 suprisingly, has better fuel economy then the 4 cyl.
If you are really worried about fuel economy, then I'd suggest you to at least find an EFI Magna.

Well i am not 100% worried about fuel economy but i was wondering whether the carbie version is better or worse.

Here is what the car looks like.

Well....I personally don't like the carby version.
Those pics depict that it is a TS Magna, either a GLX or Executive. If its a carbie then its the GLX, else its the Exec. For $5499 you'd hope its a low km EFI though!

Well it has 160,000 km on the clock. by mum's boyfriend (mechanic) looked at it and said it is a pretty tight car, he is quite happy with the engine and for the 5,499 i get 6 months rego, 4 new tires, 1 year warranty, new head liner.

YAY!!!! i was looking at the specs on redbook and found out it is actually a Executive. so it is an EFI. because the GLX's didn't come out with Power Mirrors.

Well sadly today i found out i don't think i will be able to get the magna, it is a sad day  !!!! to much stuff is going wrong, seals are leaking, water pump is going, over heating (due to water pump and seals). so i must hang my head in same. and stop posting on AMC. but i will try and find one. but bye for now! :doubt:

I would have said $5499 was a lot of $ for a TS Exec 4cyl. Even with 6 mnths reg and only 160,000km.
I just bought (3 weeks ago) a 1995 TS Exec V6 Auto with 180,000km. 6 mnth reg, new tyres, immaculate interior, a few very minor marks on the exterior for $3700.
Based on this, I reckon you're better off without that one. Be patient and you'll find a good'un.
Cheers,
Pete
