View Full Version : wires going into back of stock headunit?

does anybody know what wires are for what that are going into the back headunit. I'm pretty sure the big blue one in the middle is remote, and the red one is battery power. i figured the rest are all the speakers etc. but there the hell is ground?

Generally the black wire... has been on my last 5 cars.

GND is just anywhere on the metal bodyshell, there's plenty of screws going into
the bodymetal behind the dash that you can use for your GND connection.

i know what ground is and im pretty sure the closest thing to black was a black and green wire so i guess that is it im not sure ill have to check it out. does anybody else know for sure or is there a chart or something of what wire is what?

Why not buy a multimeter instead of guessing? Guessing is the easy way to fry your gear.

yeh well i have a tester light so that is some sort of aid, that is how i found out battery power and remote power.

Yeah, there is no ground wire in a Magna, you have to ground to a bolt or screw.
