But it's so easy to clean up and dress up a car for some photos for an ad on the internet. The thing is probably a heap of crap :P

You have to give him points for doing a great sell job though. He's gone to a bit of effort to try to get rid of this car. Some unsuspecting sucker will buy it and the seller will walk away with lots of cash. Yeah, no one here would buy it but someone will.

on the holidays i plan to make the engine bay sparkle like that one :D
what do people reccommend here?
bit of degreaser, followed by a hose, then a quick detail of any bits still dirty?
have been told not to use a high pressure washer.
what do people here use?

No problems using a high pressure washer and degreaser here
I dont believe in letting the engine warm up though.

Those of you that have seen my engine will know it is as clean as that or better, KB has seen it :) A good clean, no oil leaks and wet look silicone tends to give that appearance.
The interior is nothing special, but those hub caps must be worth a fortune. Hope the person who's car he stole them off in the carpark was able to replace them ok
It is a tidy car but paying that price, I think he got the decimel point in the wrong place.
I would say it was worth 4 - 5 if it is a good as he says it is, given the Koni which you would have to verify.
I hope his overseas trip is not hanging on his selling this car.

dude, word of warning. dont use silicone based products in your engine bay... in fact, dont use silicone products on your car full stop (when your cleaning it anyway!)
silicone burns. any good detailer will refuse to use it on any car.

Thanks mate but I have been using this on my engine bays for 20 years and never had an issue.
I would not use silicone sealant on a car as in the form of silicone it is acidic and will cause rust however "wet look" is made for tyres and rubber which is what my hoses etc are made from
