pharagon mate join the club!, looks tuff as, what % is that?, man i want a TS rear they look so nice.
i paid $295 but that included taking off the old tint.
it makes such a difference, i got in the car aftrer 30 mins of it being in the sun, and my god how nice it was in there.
best thing, is at night time, not a single person can see inside my car, during daylight you can just see my the driver/passengers outline.
well worth the money people, everyone get your car tinted!

what i suggest doing is going 35% on the sides and 20% on the rear. The rear will look lighter otherwise.
hey guys not sure how strict the cops are there but my mates and i had 5% on our cars since we got our licences (4/5yrs ago).. not yet on the magna but we havent been done yet... knock on wood... this is a pic of my old car with it on...

you could have a disco in there and no-one would see lol
Doesn't that amount of blockout become impractical?... possibly even dangerous at night?

i would of thought that too, only time it would be practicale is when your at the lights and have to pick your nose :P , no-one can see anything :P
besides that, hehe, i mean also if you had a high end audio visuall system in there aswell no one would be able to see, but i mean around the %20 is dark enough

naa... suprisingly its not bad at night... yea my mate at the tint shop told me he would save me the end of the roll... its darker there... they where rated 3.5% on his meter :bowrofl:
it was good for giving nobs sh!t at the lights... should see some ppls faces when there looking at you and then the windows go down and your giving them the hello...
naa all in all, looks good on the car, and not too bad at night... unless you have really really bad vision

Actually i was thinking more of seeing where you are reversing, and trying to do a left or right turn during an early evening when it is getting dark and someone doesn't have their headlights on... like in the morning, i feeze my face off when winding down the window so I can see if cars are coming and I have no tint.

good point, but HYPERTF, invest in some tinty tinty for the summer, it'll be well worth it
na all cool mate... havent had any trouble with it, but i know what you mean... lucky for me, i normally drive to work too early when its still dark and you need the lights on, same for coming home

I bought a Black TJ Solara 2mths ago (don't worry about the pic on my profile, thats my old Magna.. Gotta update my profile) had my new car Tinted in 18% all round by a mate who is a window tinter with one of the big well known companies, looked fricken awesum! just 3 days ago I was stopped by cops, "illegal tinting" $250 fine on the spot, car was reffered to Queensland Transport, they deemed the car "un-roadworthy" Asked my insurance company, AAMI, they said IF I had an accident, my Insurance policy would be void on the spot, leaving me with the damage bill of my car, and the other/s! So, after all this, the tint was stripped off my car, and the darkest legal put on (35%)! Took car back to Queensland Transport, all ok now! Just left with the fines to pay, and money outa my pocket.. Expensive mistake!
My mate showed me a copy of the Australian Standards book, Tinting on ALL sedans is no darker than 35%, that is front, rear and back windows. Only coaches, and motor homes are permitted to have there side windows tinted below 35%, but there front windows must be 35% (like you see on those luxury bus coach thingy's)

Yeah because of the tint.. Dude I was so fricken pissed off hey! But, now I look at it another way, I would HATE it if I smashed my car tomorrow, then find out my Insurance was automaticly void from the time the tints went on!

So how can they be allowed to stock and install the stuff if it's plainly illegal?
How long does it take to get tinting done? Any recomended places in Brissy?

They stock it for "off road use only" or basically for show cars that are trailer queens... Should only take an hour to tint all 4 windows and the rear... cant recommend anywhere cos i'm not over in Austrailia :D
