Fitting a set of One Piece Parras to Mysti`s TH Magna.. all is good so far as regards to changing over the wiring..
I need help off anyone who has done this to their TH to help.. The Problem is that when we hit the high beams the normal beam lights goes out and everything works as normal other than that.. what im trying to do is make the normal beam light stay on when u hit the high beams for more light.. Tried everything, cant get it to work..
Can anyone help..? has anyone managed to over come this problem yet..
Any help would be nice..
Cheers

install a relay off your highbeams with a sererate power from the battery so when u hit your high beams, sends a signal to the relay and diverts power from the battery to your low beams, so the highbeams are kinda just acting as a switch for your lows.
Anyone wanna explain this better feel free.
EDIT* how many 6 and half foot wombat's do u know ?
on my TF the low beams go off once i turn the high beams on

yeah they all do, i think wats Jason is asking is, is there anyway to make them stay on when your highbeams are on, so all of the lights stay on.

you have to earth one of the wires on each light. Don't listen to anyone else. Don't even listen to me - I don't know shi7 about auto electrics. PM PhilsTH - he'll be able to explain it to ya.

that thing that joins paper together. you know bit of bent steel. you press the stampler and one comes out and its just the right size to slip over the two contacts. then press the plug back in. yeah join them with the stample. i dont mean like staple them together you have to do it manually. the switch then activates low normally and both relays on high.

nope - the low beams should turn off when you hit the high beams normally.
Atleast this is the way it works on my Ralliart and my old mans VRX from factory.
That said i wouldn't mind it if the low beams came on, the more light the better if you ask me!

that is weird every verada and vrx ive seen leaves the low beam on while on high beam
and i have it the same way with my altera
if you dont have the answer by the morning jason ill look at mine and tell you what wire it is for power and then the other side hook up to negative.

That's the normal problem everyone gets in a car not intended for the lights. Simple to overcome.

A relay is a bit over the top but sounds like it works.

You might want to fix that.
you have to earth one of the wires on each light.
That's exactly what you need to do. It uses an earth return setup. All you need to do is earth one of the wires. I think I've got pics on here somewhere of what I've done. I didn't cut anywires, I just used spades, wires and stuff so it can all be put back to original condition.
nope - the low beams should turn off when you hit the high beams normally.
Nah, they should all be on.
That said i wouldn't mind it if the low beams came on, the more light the better if you ask me!
That's right. If the low beams turn off then you start loosing near vision on the road. It's probably not that bad but still not a good thing.

with regards to the wiring - checked mine last night, and we earthed the Red (solid red) wire from the lowbeam on each side. This will make your low beam remain on when you switch to high beam - exactly how it's supposed to work.
So have you got them in yet? mysti's car was in dire need of a set of para's!!

hahah
I must admit.. we did wonder what a stample was too.. thought it was some wierd technical term.. dont feel so dumb now..
But yeh.. after a few dramas.. and a few phone calls.. and a few more dramas..
THEYRE IN!
Im normal beam-less when I have high beams on but thats ok.. dont use em much anyway unless i flash ppl, and it kinda adds to that effect ;)
But it did kinda accentuate the fact that my front bar is rather stufffed.. someone did a damn good cover up job... so much so that they didnt bolt in one of the headlight bolts cos the holes didnt align any more after they pushed the front bar in so far..
Ego had a go pullin it out and made a bout a 10mm difference on each side.. now theres only 5 or 10mm difference left.. might have to get the panel shop to have a looksee..
But yeh.. loox hot.. wil get piccies tomorrow when i wash the sexy thing.
Oh and just wait til all this stereo gear sitting on my lounge suite goes in...........

allright allready, so its staple. my bad OK?
try this. turn you lights on normal. then pull the lever back till just before it clicks to high beem. the high beem will turn on and the low will stay on. pull a bit more and when it clicks the low will cut out and the high will stay on. if this happens the staple will work.
wil get piccies tomorrow when i was the sexy thing.
s'ok, people like yourself cant always be the sexy thing; unlike yours truley
