got a full alignment the other day,and the guy said he had adjusted the rear to the max and was still at 4mm toe out,and that i would need ' adjustable lower control arms ' to corect it?are these avalable?
is 4mm toe out that bad? :doubt:
i have coilovers set pretty low,and camber kit installed.

4mm toe out is HEAPS for a road going car, but it depends which method they use to measure toe, whether it's the 26" reference wheel diameter or actual diameter. This is why mm is not a reliable measurement when comparing different cars, as you should be using degrees.
Adjustable control arms I think he means control arm bushes with an eccentric centre bolt, of which I don't believe this to be required for correcting toe issues. If you can't get the toe within manufacturer spec through normal adjustment when something must be bent.

yea he said mabee bushes or adj rods,
so does the car being low effect the toe ANY way?.. on the rear?
i dont think any think would be bent otherwise the toe measurements would be dif for each side wouldent they?(unlikly both sides would be bent the exact same)..and the car handles like a dream!
any ideas?

Maybe take it somewhere else, see what they say. the rear toe on a gen 3 is already adjustable, and should be according to factory specs at 0mm, having toe out normally makes handling bad not good, toe in would be better. lowering it shouldnt affect it much if at all(correct me if im wrong) when i lowered mine it didnt change. mines now set to 2mm total (1mm aside) toe in.
But honestly take it to a wheel alignment specialist, are you in qld??

When lowering a car both toe and camber is affected. Go to a specialised wheel alignment outlet, i.e. Not Bobjane, Beaurepaires, Pedders or the major chains. Outlets that specialise in doing track and rally cars would be a good bet (I'm not familiar with outlets in QLD, only Victoria).
As a general guide, a good 4 wheel alignment should cost around $90 and take just over an hour to do, with a road test before and after, and possibly a second adjustment then 3rd road test.

re camber bolts
has anyone had a look at the factory bolts on the front struts of a 3000gt - they look like a misti bit - and this should give a nice factory look, as well as allowing precise camber adjustment on the front end . .. . .
can somneone find some pics - i read this in the manual for the 300gt....
cheers

Factory camber bolts look much the same as ones from Whiteline or Pedders, I wouldn't be surprised if the one factory made the bolts for everyone. All you need to get right is the thread diameter.
The preferred (but expensive) way to correct camber is actually via adjustable strut top hats, as camber bolts change the angle of the wheel to the strut body to achieve the desired effect.
