I just got a quote from Pedders for a front strut tower brace and sportsryder springs for $913 supplied and fitted. Is it just me or is that insanely high?
RPW are quoting equivilent parts (minus labour) for just $478.50.
Is the labour really worth ~$434.50? I really doubt that...
Quick sums...
Springs are around $450 supplied and fitted.
Strut brace is about $180. Fitting is about an hr (big guess), $60
So all up I wouldnt want to pay more than $700.
Get an itemised quote and see where that money is going, or go elsewhere

Well it should only take them ~ 1.5 hours to do the job so yeh, its crazy pricing for labour... get someone from AMC that lives close by to fit them for you.. I'm sure a couple of cases of beer would cover it..

Strut tower brace you can fit yourself in about 15mins.
I recall a place around here (brisbane) quoting lowering of *any car (*with Kings lowering springs supplied and fitted) for around the $450 mark - this was advertised in a catalogue.
All up I wouldn't be willing to pay more than $250 for fitting only of 4 springs. Thats 2 hrs - more than enough!

hey , i wouldn't pay more than 150 for a front strut brace. Once you get it, you will see how easy it is to fit yourself.
Also, with the springs, dont pay more than 250-300 fitted, so thats about 450 all up .
If they try and charge you more, just go elsewhere as they obviously havn't done a magna before and dont know what they're on about .
ps... you'll love the new handling !

Strut tower brace shouldn't cost you anything to install, as the labor would be duplicated within the cost of having the springs fitted.

Dont want to sound rude, but what world are you living in. to buy kings springs on there own cost around the $125 a pair (retail) so no place will fit them for free.
For the brisbane guys i supply kings spring for around $95 a pair plus $60 total to fit, and thats through my workshop, basically cost price

Strut braces we fit free of charge all the time.
Strut braces are fitted free of charge in terms of labour whenever you do a spring change.
Normally its around $400 - $420.00 fitted for a set of springs Lovells (The only brand we use).
Strut brace is worth $190.00.
The price from pedders, does seem a little excessive.

No we don't wheel align the vehicles - we don't have that equipment and generally 75% of the time they don't need it depending upon how low they go.
Clarify - we may fit the strut braces labour free, but you still have to pay for teh strut brace itself
