I'm after info on an amp a friend has recently aquired off a friend...

It's a proton 222, has RCA low level in, high level in, left and right speaker out, remote led (no remote with it), +12v, gnd, remote...

It's about 20cm x 15cm.

Has an information card on it with the following info:

Proton
Model number: 222
Stereo power amplifier with 22 wpc into 4 ohms.
Power rating: 12V Neg. Gnd. Masse Neg.
Use 2, 4 or 8 ohm speakers.
Made in taiwan.

Could anyone tell me what this might be good for, if anything?
Any output details in leighmans terms would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Danno

22w per channel, is just a headunit pretty much.

Would be good for... nothing ;)

well would only be good to plug into an existing STOCK headunits speaker wires as a slight upgrade to a stock sound system.

Most aftermarket headunits will put out that much juice anyway.

looks like it'd be good to stop paper from flying off your desk..... or to tie someone's leg to when you throw them in the lake.

I doubt that amp would even hold an ant down to the bottom of a lake, let alone a full grown human :-)

Would be perfect for a set of ambient tweeters if it has high pass and is good quality...
