Hi Guys, I have just bought a Black KH 2000 Verada Wagon which needs quite a few things done to it to bring it up to scratch! I live in the Ringwood area in VIC and was hoping to get some recommendations
on a good mechanic (local) to do the timing belt and a major service as prices seem to vary heaps???
I have also found out I have water leaking into the rear tailgate area via the top of the rear side windows on both sides under the metal and rubber trims that go over the top of the glass ! Has anyone had this problem?
The CD player sound cuts in and out which makes me really sad, I'm guessing but maybe the stacker has been knocked around and needs replacing? If anyone can tell me if there any compatible after market stackers, I would appreciate it!
I'm sure once these initial things are fixed it should be all good cruising! I look forward to you're replys or suggestions. Regards, Bigblackbull.

Welcome to the forums :)
Well I havn't noticed any water leaking from the side cargo windows, but I'll have a closer look next time it rains (hardly ever rains in Sydney).
The only compatible stackers you can replace yours with without going aftermarket (which means either a aftermarket head unit or additional stacker controls are required) is a Eurovox stacker.

Just a suggestion you can take it or leave it but why not just change your hu for an aftermarket one that can play mp3s does the same job as a stacker and if you have a large collection of mp3s even better. Although if you have a large collection of cds then it can be a slight inconvienience converting them. On the upside though if you car (hope it never happens but) ever gets broken into you only loose cds created by you and not original cds.

yeah its a common problem apparently, my te wagon has a leak because they only used foam to seal the glass in from the back its gonna cost me 90 dollars each side to have the sealant replace with something better............have to remove the interior trim to do it

Thanks! TecoDan, EDave and tewagon for the suggestions, I took the car to Novus and the guy told me that it was a common problem with the Wagon, he explained to me that the foam strip which goes around the glass becomes brittle and breaks with age, He resealed both the windows for $99.00 each and should now give me no more grief. I also took the car to a workshop to have the timing belt replaced and have major service done, I will just need to sort out what to do about the CD player ???

My KJ comes with a HU/stacker made by Mitsubishi Electric (Japan), not Eurovox.
Eurovox makes the 'lesser' models methink, dunno about the earlier cars.

Yep, i looked at it when I was buying my car, how much did you end up getting it for? It was marked $15999 when i was looking.
It's a hot car though! spotless interior and exterior from what i saw, dump it with some chromies and put some dark ass tint on it and it'll be one pimpin car!
Bout your problems, take it back to the dealer! it should have 3 month warranty.

Yeah leaky back side windows common. Had it happen to mine twice. As the other guys said, take it to a windscreen place and get them to strip off all the foam and put a flexible rubber sealent on. The wagons tend to flex a fair bit in the rear especially when lowered. I found that when i had my rear wiondows re-sealed, it also got rid of a lot of the body flex squeaks from the rear. Must of been the old sealent rubbing and making the noise.

I bought it for $13000. including 12mths reg and Stampduty, I took it to a mechanic he put it up on a hoist and test drove it, a basically the car is in good nick just needs some initial TLC which equates to $1000.00 I'm picking it up tommorow from the workshop should run like new, I HOPE!!! I want to get some new rubber and black tint which will be next on the shopping list, just will need a weekend with good weather to rub some polish and wax on the new baby!
