hey all,
i've been lurking around the amc forums for a few weeks now and i'm very impressed with the knowledge and community like feeling of the club (insert warm and fuzzy feeling here)

my name is jay, i live in broadview sa (about 10 mins north of the city) i own a nowet car detailing franchise and am considering a sponsorship of the amc - with discounts for members (moderators can pm me with their thoughts) for more info check out www.nowetcarclean.com.au

my wife owns a black tj sports sedan - 5sp tiptronic with 17's (needs bigger rims and slamming) and a droney cannon muffler

i've just picked up a th wagon - 5spd for my work vehicle (i need to put on some 18's, slam it, dark tint and have it sign written before i'm happy)

i need a little help... i want to change the auto gear stick on the tj to a momo item - however i can't get the factory one off. any attempt i have made feels as though its gonna break

any advice would be most appreciated.
cheers,
jay

I dont know about the TJ's, but with my TF you have to take out the plastic top and undo the screws under there, and then theres a screw on the otherside of it that needs to come out as well.

As said though, dont know if it will help.

Sorry - but that product looks dodgy as.

As if it wouldn't scratch the paint - you are rubbing a towel over dirty paintwork - it's gonna scratch.

TL-R if you've never tried the product dont bloddy diss it straight off....

i'm interested... very skeptic though.. but i wouldnt mind giving this a go, with all the water restrictions goin on here in nsw...

the website doesnt fully explain in detail the product itself... i saw the video and it was pretty convincing... but theres always that doubt in the head...cos it cant be done... lol

how much are we looking at after an amc discount if you do become a sponsor??

it might be useful if u can provide us with an explanation of how it works ... coz i was taught that any sort of rubbing with a garment on a dry, dirty car was a BIG NO NO :P

I own a car detailing business too and I can no see how no water can be good for a car.

I do a lot of 4x4 which are covered in dirt and mud and it needs water to remove it..

Can u give us a explanation on how it works?

And good luck :D

theres 2 types - one has a screw in the front, the other you need to get 2 splints and get the top botton off and theres a nut underneath.

cheers for all the interest... both positive and negative

i fully understand the concern of washing a car without water - i was the same. i went down to disprove the concept after hearing about it - i took the black magna down, it had like 7 weeks of dirt and road grime on it (that should fix his little red wagon i thought) all it took was one panel to convince me that it was a good thing... and then i bought a franchise.

without trying to sound too much like a salesperson i'll try and give you an explination of how it all works.

first up, nowet is a liquid that contains 17 natural ingredients (i call em herbs and spices) it contains no petroleums or silicons so wont harm your paintwork.

1) you spray a light mist on a panel and allow it 10 - 15 seconds to do its job - what it does is it goes into the pores in the paintwork and it wraps itself around the particles of dirt and pollutants in and on the paint - it then comes to the surface (you can physically see this by the droplets expanding in size and beginning to run)

2) you then remove the nowet that contains the dirt and pollutants with a microfibre cloth in one direction (not round and round - thats coming up) this dragging off of the dirt etc. is the bit that freaks most people out - but remember, the dirt etc. is suspended in a solution of nowet and is no longer against your paint work, the microfibre cloth is designed to lift the dirt away safely

3) this leaves behind a 'film' on the paint work - you then take another microfibre cloth and buff this off in a circular motion (there is now no dirt on the surface) once buffed off, there remains a coating of carnuba wax that acts as a uv protectant and produces a great shine on the paintwork

believe me - this does sound too good to be true, but it really does work

for all those still sceptical please give me a call on 0428 962 812 and make a time with me to come out and demo it for you - 1 panel - no charge (or i'll do it on my own vehicle if you still dont trust me) THIS OFFER IS FOR SA RESIDENTS ONLY (i'm not willing to travel interstae to do a 1 panel demo :D )

DaJaJa - unfortunately i can only make promises of discounts to sa members (we operate as franchises and i cant vouch for the nsw guys) however, i will have a word to the other franchisees and see if i cant get this offer australia wide - to answer the question though, i'm thinking of varying discounts from 10 - 25% off depending on the service required

thanks also to everyone for the suggestions on removing the auto stick - i'll give it a bash on the weekend and let you know how i go

Teh Seafood - i dont think we will be able to get to the cruise on sunday... but i do hope one day to make it along to some. does the sa crew ever hold meetings?

sorry about the long post guys

sorry i forgot to reply to this one...

when it comes to big ass dirt, you have to knock as much off by hand first - before hitting it with HEAPS of nowet (to be completely honest, water is a much better solution in this instance) we have to add a surcharge to cover the expense incurred by using extra product, but it can still be done

I'd be very very keen on this and i actually think that you guys actually do it where i park for work...

In the car park off Pirie St. I swear i've seen NoWet there... Does it have a green theme?? Like lime green???

Also can we work out a time and price??

Cheers.

if it does work i'd love something like it. save a lot of time and effort, not to mention water. had a look at the site, but didn't seem to be selling the product, even though bottles were shown on the front page. it has washing instructions so i assume you can do it yourself, where do i get the spray and towels from? how much are they?

hey everyone,
big apologies for not getting back to you sooner... i've been sick as a dog since thursday (still am)

Teh Seafood - sorry i wasn't able to get to you before the cruise

Smokey - yeah there is a guy in topham mall carpark, his name is rod. however, i dont know if he would be willing to do discounts  . but yeah give me a call again and we can sort something out

helloyo - nowet is supposed to only be available through nowet franchisees, however ;) , if you live in sa, i know that there is still some available retail at stratco on pt wakefield rd or motorquipe at sefton park shopping centre (see adrian the manager there and tell him jay form nowet sent you) as for a price we have a "starter pack" that consists of a 225ml pump dispenser and a 375ml refill - this retails for $49.95 - i like to throw in a couple of microfibre cloths too at no extra cost, these retail for $7.95 a pack

Madmagna - cheers mal, i still haven't given it a bash yet. do you own a workshop? if so, hook me up with an address and i'll try and call on by sometime
