I went to JAX tyres for some...tyres, and while i was there i asked about lowering my car and ended up getting it done.
It is now 1.5 inches closer to the road and it cost $400 - i was just wondering if this is a good price? I thought it was but i didn't check any other places. I can notice the difference at the wheels but i just thought it would be A LOT more noticable all around.
1.5 inches isn't much to lower a car is it? I DON'T KNOW
I love my car :D :D 8)

i think $400 is alright since you got it done professionally, i assume.
What Springs did you get? I guess for that price, it was pedders?
Kings would have cost you around $300 already (guessing conservatively) and labour, how long did it take? was it quick job?
I guess it all comes down to the end result, you must be pretty happy with it though, 1.5" is alright, you'll be fine with most places. oh , just wait a bit, it may drop more when the springs and suspension sets *(sags)*
anyways, i think it's alright price for getting it done outside..
Have fun.

I got King Springs in mine (Low).
Wish I had gone Superlows in the front.
$350 - $400 sounds about right (I think).

Yeah they are Pedders, are they good?
It was done professionally and it took a bit less than 2 hours.
I suppose i'm happy with it, i just thought it would be a bit more noticable.
This is after lowering...
Also, yesterday morning i seen a white TS (pretty sure it was) with chrome wheels and 2 green P plates on the back with a white number plate "ACA something something something" going into Strathfield Plaza (NSW) Is it anyone's on here??? It was nice.

MIGHT!?
I'd have taken it back that DAY and THROTTLED them!!
Dude...if they chopped your springs and that was the cause of you having an accident..they can be sued. Not only that..you PAID for new springs which you didnt get!!!
And you say you MIGHT go back!?
Go back and kill em!!!

Arggggghhhh. Now you have me worried!!!
What if they did that to mine?
They didn't give me my original ones back...
What if they didn't even cut mine and it's all in my imagination that it is a TINY bit lower!!!  It'll never be off my mind now!!!
I did say "can't i have it a bit more lower that 1.5 inch" but they said "No Magnas weren't designed with lowering in mind, so if you went lower the exhaust would scrape, and you wouldn't be able to get bigger wheels later" So i settled for that. I also wasn't happy that when i went to get the tyres i was really wanting less profile size than 65, but he said i can't have them unless i get bigger wheels because it'll throw the speedo out. :(
If you're sure they're your original springs, GO BACK.

Hate it when people get stuffed around like this.
Had mine done at Pedders, Liverpool (heyyy, renovating the house, no time). But I changed the whole struts and all, so it was much more expensive. Mine has 50 mm lowering, which is the lowest legal, Richard reckons. And it also causes no problems with camber, which has been now proven correct (even tyre wear).
It's maybe bit too late for you now, but, I recommend him for any suspension stuff including wheel balances (on-car as well) and drive shaft stuff etc.
Pedders' performance? Beautiful!
Did somebody mention the exhaust getting scraped.....
What comes to wheel sizes, they go hand in hand with the width and profile to maintain the overall circumference.
The bigger the wheel (rim) the lower the tyre profile, because the overall wheel height stays the same
Personally I would not use Jax. Why? Well.... 8)

thats all well and good but she got pedders, not kings. im pretty sure the pedders will be red. any way whatever colour they are, they will look new. plus i cant see them not replacing your springs at all. that would just be stupid. i know it happened to tipareth but that was just one dodgy arsed bastard(who i would have taken the springs back to and corkscrewed them up his arse!) and you cant expect it to happen everywhere. most probably here original springs had sagged a fair bit so the difference wasnt as noticable. she should definately be able to feel the difference in the ride though.

Yeahhhh! :)
I'm ok now, my car is very important to me and i worry about him all the time (the car)
So are Kings better than Pedders? Also, when i go over a speed bump there is a noise at the back like an air sound (i can't explain it well) Is this the shock absorbers?? Hehehe i'm learning so much! :D
I think the previous owner put it through hell.

Yeah I have noticed my Kings springs made a little bit of noise when going over speed bumps - at first - but now I haven't really noticed it.
My springs have dropped more when they settled too - I'm scraping heaps more now!
..GONE..

Scrap-age.. Gotta hate it.. There is a way to try and manouvre (sp? Its 3:44am) the car so you don't scrape.. Just go on an angle.. Don't go on too much of an angle either because once your front wheels are over the bump you gotta turn the other way so the car ends up straight and your chassis just goes.. *CLUNK.. GRIIIIIIND.. CLUNK*
Personally.. I like the look of the TS.. Looks nice.. Just a set of VR-X Rims and you're set mate!
