I'm wanting to lower my TJ but i'm not too sure which springs I want to put in. Basicaly I want to only lower it to take out the gap under the wheel arch. I still want the car to have a smooth ride and not bouncy. I've had pedders in other cars and have found them to bounce. What experinces have people had with either setup?? :?

Pedders or Kings. I have pedders and have used them for years.
I know ppl with others such as King springs, again they are happy with them
Just be aware that when you do change the springs over that your ride will not be as smooth as it used to be.

There's no magical quality about either brand. If you get the same spring rate and height from both then you'll get the same ride.

When lowering your car.. do it properly.. Change the shocks too.. Otherwise there's no doubt you will get a bouncy ride. Take it from someone who fitted Pedders SuperLows with stock shockies.. OUCH - Changed to Monroe GT Gas Shockies ASAP. Do it right the first time.. If you cant afford it.. chuck in the springs save up.. then change shockies, but remember to change shockies!

KJ GTV is 100% Right.
Better still if you have not got the $$ to change the shocks over as well wait and save up unless your car is fairlt new or a sports Magna.
The other thing to concider is that on the older cars the shock (damper) has been riding in a fairly std position for years, when you lower it 9 times out of 10 it will start to lead because the section of shaft you are now sitting on with the damper has not really been used and it may be a bit rough thus the seal will wear fairly quickly.

Go the Monroe GT Gas!!!

they rock!!!

and look sexy when their blue case is wrapped around a pretty yellow super low coil 8) in a pure black wheel arch

Dude i have a TJ sportz and was wondering if i could just get the kings lowering springs ( for the time being ) without getting shock upgrades etc. Also how much would it cost to lower my car with the springs.

I've got the same car and just went the King spring route without replacing the shocks.. car is only 16,000km old so there's plenty of life in the old girls yet.

Go the springs and then maybe consider a strut brace, or some of whiteline's other suspension upgrades.

Sweet as, did you only get it lowered 40 or 44mm or whatever they are? How much did it set you back? by the way.... nice car

I just got the 40mm 'low' ones. If you're into the really low look then go the super lows cos it still sits up a bit otherwise - its low enough for me though.

Mine cost too much! About $400 but there are people on here who've had it done for around the $300 mark or less. That's the price you pay for living in Darwin. bah.

With a TJ sports I would say you can keep your existing shocks given that the car is not that old and the sports has fairly good suspension to begin with
