In the TS models there was a V6si, which was just a "sport" version (just had extra stuff standard). It had no extra power.

I used to have a white TJ Si Magna before my Sports was very nice, had VRX rims Lowered, VRX Kit.. Looked mint but was a company car had to get rid out it. The si had extras like power windows, cruise. seat pattern was different but the engine and power was all the same! Just another model i guess like the solara.

your wrong Nick, its "Free"
the consumer has to pay for it somewhere along the line, Nothing is this world is "Free".
if business' were to keep giving out "free" stuff, they wouldnt be in business very long.
The Consumer will loose out Every Time. be it ovious or not.

Yeah dealers like to add a lot of their own badging to cars.
eg. Northern mitsubishi adds a whole lot of "GSR" badging to all their cars that they add stuff to.

good looking badging is one thing crappy pov stickers are another. i think it was dave who took off my portside mitsubishi sticker from just above my bumper bar . WHY O WHY do they bother.
the tinting guys took the one off the back window thank god i was dreading taking that one off it was huge.

Could be a dealer special.

How can they do that? GSR is still being used on evolution Lancers (GSR and RS are the two versions that I know of). That's bloody ghey.
Imagine a Holden dealer putting SS stickers on cars with upgraded floormats or something

Most of these are dealer specials.. the V6si was not really a dealer special, most of the dealers had them and also sold car mats with the V6si logo thing printed on em.
SSi-R, S-RX, NSV etc most of them are dealer specials eg. Northside Mitsubishi have the NSV for Magna's, Lancer's, Pajero's etc. All of there models can be purchased with the NSV badging on them.
One dealer has a RalliArt GTR.. Hmm.. It has a K&N Pod Filter, Revised exhaust and suspension. Saw it once at the dealer when searching for the GTV.. Looked quite nice.. was a lil lower then a standard RalliArt sounded sweet, problem they only had a red one with scratches on it and all.. didn't really tickle my fancy, Anyways..

Hi,
Just joined this forum, though I have been driving my Magna, a TH V6Si since mid 2000. The Si was a discounted model with some of the options of the sport, including the sport springs, but no rear sway bar. It also came with stacker under the passenger seat, and body coloured trim my build date was April 2000, seems that they brought out the model ex factory to flog off the last of the TH before the TF (price was 29 to 30 k, significantly less than the 40 k for the sport). I thought that the TH was better looking. My motor seemed to have signifigantly more power than my old TH's, similar to my Neighbours TF, Does anyone know the switch over dates for the new TF mod motor? I have had All magna models so far, as well as 3 of the TH, a 1998 model, a 1999 wagon and then the Si.

Am I reading this wrong or are you saying the TF came out AFTER the TH? Because the TF was introduced in 1997, and the TH wasn't released until 1999, so your 1998 model would've been a TF. The model that came out after the TH was called the TJ.

Sorry, My fingers and spell checker were not operating at the time, I ment to say TJ. The TF magna was only available as a 3.0.. Found a link to some old magna info during the intro of the TJ series. www.mellor.net/mellor/enews.nsf/edition/B0132E031209C1C3CA256ABC001EE8BF/$file/2001.09.03_enews100.pdf/ . Yeah what the hell is a SRX? It may be the same one I saw because the guy who lives across the road from me has a Blue "SRX" which looks pretty sweet. It might be the same one you saw. How come I have never heard of them until now? Are they like really rare? I thought the guy was just doing sum ricey sh!t to his car and trying to make it like a VRX but calling it a SRX lol :bowrofl:

From the Brochure,
Sports got leather steering wheel, gear change Knob, fog lights, white dials on instruments, 'Sports mode' Tiptronic gear selector, 18mm rear anti sway bar, Power windows, TCL (Mitsubishi Traction control) basically cuts engine power, not the more advanced system based on the ABS, which a lot of new cars have applies the brake on the corner slipping or to correct Yaw, "Unique chrome automatic trasnsmission shift surround" and black carpet (from the TH series brochure). The only option the Si had other than being $10, 000 cheaper, was a six CD stacker under the passenger seat. :doubt:

Hey im new on here lol, I just got a 97 magna with v6ssi-r stickers on it, has 15inch multi spoke wheels with the r in the centre cap and has v6ssi-r embroyded into the front head rests. It seems to be lower then nomal and has a rear wing. Its a really nice car. It has a build plate in the engine bay. Has nothing special like only had a radio cassette and manual windows. But with only 88,000k's and full service history i couldnt go past it!!!! Goes frickin awsome though (auto).

Ladies, if the member had started a new thread, you would have all told him to search, if he searches and then brings up a thread again then you accuse him of threadmine
GROW UP, he has joined this forum to find information, has found some information and has contributed to the thread
ssirtommy, welcome to these forums mate, ignore all the posts you have no doubt seen and i have now deleted, some people have nothing better to do than flame others, not sure if it is lack of anything better to do or a mental capacity issue
The SI was in the TS and again in the TH (from memory), interestingly the TS and TH Si both had the same wheels, options and even to an extent a similar boot wing allowing for the curve in the TH boot lid

Hey thanks mate, appreciate it. I went to the mitsi dealer here and he said that mine is based on an exec and that it is a dealer special but had no idea of which dealership "produced" them. The build plate in the engine bay says Dynamics build number 124. I will have to get some pics up soon. Thanks again.

Are you saying that the V6Si included all the optional kit the Sports offered, plus a cd changer?

No,
If you read it you will see that all the Si had from the sports was the 6 stacker, and to my eyes much better cloth trim than the stuff they put in any other TH. BTW, if anyone wants one I have one from the old eurovox tape deck/ radio I replaced mine years ago with the Alpine MP3 stacker, and ipod dock. Otherwise the Si was the same as the Executive with manual windows etc, just had body coloured exterior plastic, interesting that they sell for the same as the sports.
