Hi
I am wondering if someone can point me to a site or offer some instructions on how to remove the standard radio cassette from a Th magna
TIA
Hi. Like you I am new and this was my first questoin. No one will answer you as they are all thinking "bloody idiot should use the search button".
To speed things up:
You need to remove the centre console. Check out the technical info button on the nav link on this site. then go to "removing centre console and facia"

I'd help ya rip that sucker out, but i'm in sydney. Fancy a drive?
what are you having trouble with? Is it any part in particular or are you just not confident to do it solo?

I was hoping that I didnt have to take the console out and you hit the nail on the head with the last bit .... confidence .... if shops can stuff it up I am sure I could as well and I dont want to trash the interior:)
thanks anyway ... think i will look around for someone reliable via recommendations from friends/workmates
until later
Chris

mate - I am in willetton in Perth and myself I drive a TH - as long as yours doesn't have the electronic climate control I can help you pull it out if you like!!
What are your plans this saturday??
The MOGWA guys are having lunch at Maccas on Albany H/way in vic park - if you cruise along to that I can give you a tech pointers to get it out - or cruise back to mine afterwards and we can pull it out - I may have a few other magna guys with me - but come along if you can make it!!
or else we can arrange a date and I can cruise around to yours to give you a hand - I have had my centre console out numerous times!!
Have a look below to see how empty it looks without the centre console:

That's only a couple of screws!
To get that far in the TR it's only 6 screws.

ok ok - no you don't need to do that to install a new head unit - and no it wasn't stolen - I did that myself - it was just a picture to show I can get the centre console out - I removed all that while fitting neons and Apexi RSM - but now I realised I could have installed it by removing no where near that much stuff!!

yeah boys, its not particularly hard, by far the best idea is to grab a gregories workshop manual (obviously for the TH) and that has a great description on how to do it!! my brother and i did his TE and my TH (both stereos) and are now getting quite good a pulling it to bits... even solved a couple of sqeeky noises!!!
cheers
