All except exhaust get done asap.. Didnt know they had 3 fan belts.. but check the condition of all belts, coz you really dont want belts to snap. Engine mount would be good to replace, any vibrations when driving?

Exhaust shouldnt really matter unless it sounds loud and really awful. If its rust, spot weld might be a quick fix.

I'd go change the fanbelts asap.
Don't wanna be stranded on the road with no alternator, no pwrsteer & no aircon
for the sake of procrastinating over a < 1hr job and a few bux.

Dunno about engine mount... is your engine gunna fall out yet?! :P

Re exhaust... ahh, depends what's wrong with it.

Someone's been known to go open a few large cans of SPC two-fruit, dump the
contents into a large bowl then go out to the garage with the empty tincans,
cordless drill, rivet gun and a tube of silicone.

Machani gave me those price:
Front engine mount required $150
3 x Fan belts $75.00
exhaust $50.00
Center muffler required $230

He did show me the movement , he rev it hard the engine go up and down. Do u think those are reasonable price?

Mount & belts sound ok.
(fix 'em and ask him to give you the replaced parts for proof)

Dunno what he's doing to your exhaust = muffler.

hey frenzyd :) ,
yeah i replaced all my engine mounts in my tf which have to be hydraulically pressed into the brackets i used aftermarket engine mounts from repco (i have all the receipts )which are pretty much solid rubber mounts once installed they were much stiffer than original mounts and the vibration in the car was awesome and had some good comments from the girls :D totally unexpected but good anyway and my mates dont mind the look when we were sitting at the lights when driving around,oh yeah for one of the engine mounts i had to make a close tolerance spacer out of steel on the lathe all in all i have had no problems with the mounts and they are still going strong after 40,000kms :D :D

I agree, and kind of expensive for that too. Is he going to do a proper mod to the original?
But get the rest done first.

Mate,

Go buy a cheap set of spanners and some belts from Repco and replace them yourself...BUT...if the water pump belt looks OK, DON'T TOUCH IT, 'cos the water pump will probably be corroded into the engine block and the moment you move it, it will break off or crack.
Belts for Alternator and AC should cost around $20.

Even if the mechanic does the job he could damage the water pump if it's corroded and then you will need a new one.

If you are in Sydney, Pick & Pay Less Auto Parts at Blacktown, pay $2 entry and take your spanners.
Try removing a water pump yourself just for the experience. If it's a good one, buy it as a spare. You might be able to pick up a couple of belts, and engine mount and exhaust system for less than $20.

Might see you there... I have a couple of old ones that I keep going with parts from Pick & Pay Less . I paid $400 for a new motor recently, it still had the Mitsubishi part number tag on the AC V belt pully. Looks like it was a brand new motor. Goes like the clappers with a set of extractors and a (old) Jones cam. I like driving the old TP Elite better than the newer KF, KJ and KL Veradas.

Cheers
