Hi I've had my manual TJ sports for about a month and a half now and I have been having problems with 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears.
1st Seems to hate letting go on a few very rare ocassions.
2nd Coming from 1st it will not go in even after double clutching, clunks in or there feels to be 3 bumps on entering the gear.
3rd When putting it into 3rd you can feel to gears in the box grabbing it in (not smoothly).
I've taken the car back a few times the yard I bought it from but the dam thing won't do it for them, even when I drove. Unfortunatly until the car does it for them or i can somehow manage it to deffernetly do it they can't do much about it.
I was wondering if anyone here could give me any idea what could be the prob so I can try and sort this problem out asap.
Cheers,
Nathan.

Had very similar problems with my Ralliart, it's now 50-75% better after changing the transmission oil.
I used some Redline MT-90.
Next time I going to try a 50/50 mix of Redline MT-90 & MTL

I have a similar prob but only when cold in the morning, so I drive it gently for the first few kilometres and she is right after that.
Also change the transmission oil, that would go a long way in solving lots of problems, only use good oil too.
If its intermittent then it may well be hte tranny oil.
If it was all the time id be saying maybe synchro's?
Maybe have a look to see if your shifter cables are seated correctly as well.
Other than that... dunno. there doesnt seem to be a lot on the inside of them that would cause that sorta thing, although mine did something similar when i had the incorrect oil in it.

could be 3 things, clutch, synchros oil.

I replaced my clutch and oil at the same time.
My understanding is that to fix/replace the synchros you basically have to dismantle the whole box?

They said the box would have to be pulled out and taken apart.
The clutch has been adjusted but they reckon it's ok from what they could assess without pulling apart.
