If a car is reshelled, which identity does it assume? The original body, or the replacement shell?

I thought the chasis was the foundation of a car and the rest stems from it... thus having dominance and authoritah!

A Purvis Eureka was built from a VW Chassis and engine yet looks nothing like a VW Beetle??
So I would say it would be the new shell and not the old...

hrmm you have a point... my car is a TF but you wouldn't know it unless you looked at the tail lights... as it looks more like a TH... unless I changed back to frosties

There would have to be a few factors then, I mean if you create a Vw Beetle and Shove a 13B Turbo into it, it would still be called a Beetle???

It goes by the VIN / Chasis number as that is the main way a vehicle is identified world wide.
been there
done that...
Also will need engineers certificate depending on the work done!
OK. Just seeing my options.
