Hiyas
I just pulled mine out to clean it, there has always been a bloody smudge on it... so having the rest of the dash out i decided to clean it.
Ive plugged the unit back in, upon starting the car it then did something unnormal and asked me to select 3.0 or 3.5 ... which is cool, but after that it didnt give me any details...
Perhaps its takes a little while to load up the required data??? i let it idle for only like 5mins :P
Also on another similar note - a few weeks ago the unit seem to have came out of sync with the analog fuel meter in my cluster, it was always quite accurate but it has been everywhere lately? Thoughts?
Thanks in advance :D

Did it also asked you to select S - Sedan or W - Wagon?
Mines never been real accurate, I think the sender unit must be stuffed.

disconnect it again
should come up with S or W to change it u have to push the mode button, to select push and hold the mode button
then will ask if u have a 3.0 or 3.5, change it to 3.5 or 3.0 by pushing the mode, push n hold to select 3.5
see how that goes :)

Sorry bout the thread hijack but,
when you disconnect the battery and reset the trip computer, then let it idle for 5mins. Does it reset anything else like the ECU cause my car has been NQR after I installed my amp.
My idle rev is so low now

Does it really make any difference between the Sedan and Wagon setting? - I can see the 3.0 - 3.5l setting would make a difference, but what about the S & W......my old TJ and my current KJ werer both set to S (they are wagons)....and it seems to be fine - like I said "seems" to be fine........

the range to empty setting will only change when u fill up the tank with 15 or more litres of fuel...might be why?.. i duno :P

Thanks everyone
Nah, it seem to go out of sync, example: on one journey my analog fuel thingo said just under half a tank and my trip-meter was telling me i had no kms left, where has i dont think it would normally say that untill way near the E :(

I thought it was the weight difference

what if you have a 3.5l and you picked 3.0l what would that do

What does weight difference matter? (to the computer!?) Using that logic
you'd want to program in how many passengers you have & their weights
plus tare of all that cargo you're carrying. ... think about it.
Computer gets realtime data feed from (1) fuel flow sensor and (2) speed/distance.
Difference in fuel tank size matters for the "Distance To Empty" calc.

didn't think of that dude, thanx, but that dosent explain why my idle is like 300-400RPM after i installed my amp.

Someone mentioned to me once that to work out the fuel flow, the computer
gets a signal from the injectors as to how long they are open for.
Wild guess is that 3.0 & 3.5 differs by having different injector rates.

If i remember right the wagon has a smaller fuel tank than the sedan.

Its got nothing to do with the trip computer at all, your fuel gauge, like mine, is stuffed. Will say it's empty at times its 3/4 full etc.

When you say stuck, do you mean on the Empty cause mine did that for about 2 days but went back to normal... weird
