u should have struts in ur car, which is a strut(shock) and a core spring. easy job just can take a while if u havent done it before.ull need a jack or 2 one for backup cos u never trust ur jack.undo ur road wheel nuts slightly only a turn or 2 then jack the car up on its jacking point and add a extra one next to but u dont need to i do for safty . take off raod wheel and put it under the sill so if the jack slips of it'll land on the rim and not on u. now take a pair of spring compressers that u buoght from supercheap or auto store for about $30-$40 bucks. tighten then up bit by bit on each side of the spring as far as u can get them. when u put them on to tighten leave about 3 coils between the clamp.now undo the nut at the top and the 2 at the bottom and pull it out from the car.when u buy new struts its a good idea to replace the bump stops and dust covers, u can buy them in kits called bump stop service kits all they are is a fexible rubber boot and a hard plastic stopper and sum plastic ties, they will extend ur struts life and stop dirt and dust getting in and damaging the strut.
now take the strut with the bump stop kit on itand put it inside the compressed coil and line it up and put the bolts and nuts back in the bottom and top make sure it goes back the way it was and it all lines up and the rubber components in the top are seated properly.slowly undo ur spring clamps and make sure it sitting on the struts properly and that all ur nuts and bolts are tight. put ur road wheel back on screw wheel nuts on but not tight . take the car off the jacks and tighten ur nuts on the wheel but dont overtight to the point where u wreck ur hubs i touqre mine to 120.hope it helps i know its long and u think sh*t but it easyer once uve done one side then the other side will take u half the time and it will save u a lot of labour cost cos thats where they get ya.

ermm you sure its your shocks - do a search theres a way to test them.
Usually if your tyres dont have enough air they screech.
I'm pritty sure a way to test them is if you push down on each side and they bounce more then once(dont come straight back up) if they do then they need replacing.

yep, going around corners with not properly inflated tyres causes the screeching (also cheap crap tyres will do that)
and what russian said to test shocks is correct, well the home DIY method anywayz lol (but alot ****ing cheaper and no chance of being scammed by a proper place)
also, dont be surprised if 3 sides of your car are fine, and 1 goes all over the place, as is the problem with mine atm

hmmmm, ok i think i have ****ing **** tires as the guy i bought the car off had to replace them and got 80% second hand tires for the RWC, but could be the tire pressure, it is at 29 PSI atm..... i just did that push down check and it dosnt bounce at all just gose back up and stops, thats for all of them...

if your on a budget, just replace the fronts with something of quality, doesnt have to be overly expensive, just not the cheapo's
(tis what the previous owner of my car did, as i said the fronts where squealing)
