Was that the bullbar that was on Ebay from country Vic?
does it fit inplace of the bumper or infront of the bumper?
If it is the Ebay bullbar it is a nice looking bar, but be careful not to hit any roos with it. The mounting brackets on it are solid to the bar and have no pivot or give before the chassis rails.
So hit a roo at speed or anything for that matter with it fitted and say "bye bye" to your nice straight chassis rails. try not to bottom it out either, could result in the same damage.

Benau,
Yes it is the bar that was posted on e'bay! And you concern about the bending of chassis rails is noted... but because the bar is a lightweight alloy I would expect the chassis rails to be far stronger!
The answer to the other question is that yes it does replace the bumper bar!
The answer to the other other question is that 4wd's are a long way out of my price range... well as long as I am studying anyway!
I'll try and get a photo up asap... however my digi camera is holidaying in India atm!
(and the attitude is just put on aswell... trying to keep up a mean bull bar wearer type attitude... and tuff tr its nothing personal, just i wanted your name)

Some of us live in the country - roos live here. :)
Seriously, having a Magna Wagon I did seriously consider a nice big 5 post roo bar, stainless steel side skirts, big country stickers etc. (you know, the V8 feral ute look).
But when I came accross the fibreglass side skirts and thought about the added weight - chose not to.
Good luck with your roo bar - please post a pic when your camera's back - would be good to see one fitted.

Go the B&S Magna :D (If that is the correct Roo/Bull Bar)
Once that's on - go to a good Stainless Steel Place and have some of the Stainless plain or checkerplate side skirts made up (approx. $150-$200) and then add some feral stickers (and the AMC one of course), big spot lights (maybe yellow or blue) and maybe some truck (yellow/red) lights down the side (on the skirts)

A different idea - when you put a set of chromies, make sure that ur nudge bar is polished up and they will go well together
crap so mines called a nudge bar? damn i liked calling it a bull bar.
Yep, sorry to break it to you. Bull bars protect the entire bumper, and usually have a mesh/grille over the radiator so as to protect it from, err, 'shrapnel' from the bull...

Nah, not in Melbourne, but I do know of a place up here in Ballarat.
Grab a yellow pages, and look up 'Steel Fabricators' & 'Sheet Metal Workers', then browse thru the adds looking for 'Stainless Steel' & 'Aluminium', then go to town with ya phone!
Oh and don't forget to get them to make up some rear pods to attach to the rear bumper as well.
And I know of a nice SS Com. ute here in Ballarat that even has (thick) Stainless Steel mud flaps - they look wild. (and I'm not talking about the cheap aftermarket type. These look like normal flat mudflaps but are about 5mm thick!)
Have you got the CB radios too (mounted on the interior roof so ya can see the cords dangle.
hmmm, maybe I shud-a-don-this :doubt:
GRDPuck - there is a Magna wagon in Tassie that is set up just like that... hehe. It has big mud flaps going right across the back, a massive bull bar, and roo-shooter lights at the top. And dont forget the bull-horn decals on the windscreen :)

The B&S Magna is getting there slowly...
At the moment we are decked out as follows:
Bull Bar
UHF antenna (mounted in the side of the bonnet)
AM CM antenna (mounted a-top bull bar)
Driving Lights (small rectangular (mounted low and widish on the bull bar))
Driving Lights (medium spots (mounted standard central))
"Jack Lives Here" sticker on windscreen
.... The antenna's actually do have radios attached to the other end aswell.... and sorry but they are not mounted on the roof... it would just sit too low.
STILL TO COME (Hopefully)
A new rear bumper (after some p*$@ ran up my rear while I was parked)
Side Skirts
Mud Flaps
HF antenna (got the radio... just can't affort an antenna)
(YEAH YEAH PHOTO'S I KNOW I KNOW)

puck thats the bullbar i saw on ebay, I would have bought it too, but alas it was in VIC and it also has solid brackets as noted earlier.
Cab.Sav the stainless side skirts you are looking for are available off the shelf and are called "Stone-flectors" try "blueys ute world" in Melbourne
I have had a lot of different cars many with bull and nudge bars, i have also had more high speed animal strikes at night and during dusk than i can remember.
1. hitting 2 5ft roos at once in a Datsun ute with no bullbar and writing it off. (one in the left headlight and one in the right)
2. hitting another 5ft roo at 120kph in a VN with an alloy bullbar, it happend so quick i didn't react to brake before impact, the roo came from the left and on the up bounce i hit it dead centre of the car, the roo landed clear of the far side of the road and was dead before it hit the ground. The bullbar was twisted back on it's mounts so my driving lights now pointed up at 45degs. The bolts that gave were the ones between the brackets and the bullbar, not the brackets and the chassis rails. only damage to the car was 2 small scratches in the plastic bumper behind the bull bar mounts from where it had touched.
3. i was lazy so insted of realigning the bullbar i took it off and put back on a nudge bar i had to suit the VN, 3 months later, at night and in fog, i had a black cow walk out in front of me and i hit it at 60kph, this totalled the VN's front left panels but the car still made it the 150km home because the nudgebar did actually save the radiator, but nothing else.
In the 10 months i have owned my current magna I have had 2 roo hits but in both case I managed to dodge the roo only to have it jump into the side of the car. One of of these roos took out my drivers door mirror and scratched from there back to the taillight
these pics are of the bullbar that is on my GF's commodore wagon, it is the same style as my old bullbar. Yes, the front panels on this car are on my "to do list" (anyone in NSW/SE QLD got a clean white VN commodore bonnet going cheap?)

try your local wreckers or www.ozeparts.com.au. in both cases you will most likely have to get it repainted to suit your cars colour
