Hey all,

I recently bought a TF Advance and everything is all good BUT one thing that sh*t's me is that it has no clock in the dash!!! This is my first mitsubishi so unsure but maybe it had one built in the original stereo?/! (However mine came with an aftermarket cd player.)

How can they put in dual air bags, abs, cruise etc etc... and no clock? I mean it would have only cost them couple of bucks extra.

Any ideas on what to mod to get a in dash clock that will bolt/ wire straight in???

Can I possibly replace the speed alert for one out of the top range magna that maybe has a clock in it??? :doubt:

Verada has clock + computer in the top hole.

Dunno if you can retrofit the Verada display module into a Magna,
dunno if the module is all you need or you need more wiring stuff.

Most radio HUs have a clock display, you sure yours don't?
Sometimes you have to fiddle with the setup/menus to turn it on.

yo, that must be some cd player u got, as most comes with clock display, do check it out properly or just get a better player that comes with a clock as most do. The original car comes with the clock whether is CD or the Casset player. I still have my stock player with me. and if you do get one, I think they have security number that you must enter before you can use it in your car. that if you decide to buy a original Mistubishi casset/cd player for the car. Otherwise if your current CD player is without clock, and you are really unhappy about it chage it to one that has and to your liking of your colours.

My head unit takes a Uni degree to set the clock up properly, up until that time you wouldn't know it had a clock. check the manual again just to be sure unless it is like a super simple model.

You would think they'd have a clock somewhere eh.. even the 1st gens had one in the instrument cluster! I still don't think thats a bad idea! But the TH onwards have a clock on the centre display as far as i know

My TH doesn't. It was in the original headunit.

As said previously, unless you have a Verada (SE or higher in 2nd gens), the clock is in your radio.

Nothing more to be said, Magna's arn't the only ones not having a dedicated clock, many other cars out there have the clock in the radio.

The cd player is fairly new and has a clock built in, just that when you're listening to music you have to either turn it off or switch modes. You may as well check your mobile or watch. Definitely doesn't beat the quick look over at your dash to get the ticks.

The only thing in the dash is the speed alert and I have tried fiddling with it, but no time

Anyone else have a TF with no clock? And can anyone confirm whether the verada ones fit straight in?

I have a TF Exec with no clock, it was always in the head unit. I think you can buy $2 watches from servos or $2 shops these days ;)

The clock in my new head unit is much bigger clearer and easier to read than the one in the original headunit. :)

Not really.

Blow the constant power fuse, and presto! No clock!

Oh....then you have to decide how you want to view your clock. My TE came with the radio but I changed to the Pioneer mp3 player which has the clock. I can listen to the music and at the same time it displays the time, dont really find it that bad at all. Sorry, but I think you should bare with it or buy those LCD clocks for the car as a seperate device. If you feeling rich you could buy one Phillipe Stark design ones, they are very cool!

Dads TL VR-X has a clock in that little display above the centre air son vents. Had been driving that all last week and then got into my TE and kept glancing at that display area thinking "where the hells the clock gone!" lol

silly design yeh, but at least its not like my mates Camira which has a HUGE analog clock in the dash cluster! :bowrofl:

That's 'cos Camira's are sooooo slow that keeping an eye on the time becomes a matter of UTMOST IMPORTANCE!

yea, same here.

Bought a Sony MEX-R1... didn't care if it had a clock or not, but found it only
when I had a big long fiddle with the menus - accessible ONLY with the Remote!!

1st gens were fantastic pieces of engineering...

what other 1985 design has Variable Delay intermittant wipers?

Lightbulb blown indicator light?! (a near-impossible retrofit to any car)
