What sound-deadening did you use? Did you apply the sound-deadening material everywhere in the boot? A lot of people just put it on the boot lid itself, but that doesn't mean all the rattles will stop. Spare-wheel well, boot floor, boot sides..also you might want to put it in all doors, cabin roof, cabin floor, etc...
It can never hurt to apply another layer in particular areas either :-)

i haven't had a good look into it just yet, but i find a lot of rattles in the 3rd gens come from underneath the spare wheel well, (exhaust mount brackets?) and the vents behind the bumper (near radio antenna) can make a racket aswell.

Something i tried that stopped alot of rattles was take off the rear panel were the number plate sits and put little rubber washers behind the mount points and using proper nuts i tightened it up real tight. From the factory mitsu uses plastic nuts to hold it on and they dont do sh$t. This stopped some of the rattles.
Another thing i found i went round the car with a spanner/socket set and tightened every bolt i could find, You'd be quite suprised as to how many you will find that arent overly tight.
cheers

Sound Deadening has to be the most boring thing ever, 3 hours of cutting and pasting pretty much. I thought I'd never have to do that after leaving primary school, but yet I find myself purchasing more and more of the stuff on a monthly basis.
hmm, I have a strange feeling im rattling the rear part of my car every second i have the stereo on.
the boot, parcel shelf and back rest have started rattling, and my parcel shelf sounds like its about to pop off....even though, i want another few thousand wrms for my sub, DD is teh beastz0R!! ^.^
sound deadening is for pussies :P
is it even worth deadening the boot? possible to get rid of rattle at all? (im not talking about number plate rattle, but the internal mechanisms n general bang bang)
