Has anyone with a TL or newer have noticed they have squeaky seats, especially when cornering. The sound comes from the back of the seat, not the base. And have you gotten mitsubishi to do anything. And can anything be done other than replacing the seat? would they even do that?

I think squeakyness in general is common amongst magnas. The seats in my TE squeak quite badly at times. Sometimes so badly that I try to adjust the passenger seat whilst driving to get rid of the anoying sound.

Other parts of the car that squeak or creak badly are; Windows and Seat belts. My car sounds like its falling to pieces every time I go over a little bump in the road. Also sounds pretty badly when I close my doors because the frameless windows rattle a bit.

my dad has the exact same car that you do, and i noticed a squeak, which i thought was the window, or maybe the seat, and it was actually the passenger head rest...

Have a look at the seat belt buckle, move it around and see if thats what squeeks - that was what was doing it to me.

Below the base of the buckle is a metal tab that rests against a couple of metal clips from memory.

only time i've noticed it on my car was when leaving the snow - probably due to the fact it was below zero at the time.

Squeaky seats usually on Wagons, it's the rear seat latch. Local Mitsubishi dealer winds electrical insulation tape around latch point. That fixes it until the tape wears through, then it needs re-doing.

Thanks for the replies,

It's actually the front seats in a sedan, but i find adjustment of the lumbar support can sometimes quieten it down, or stop it, then when it starts again, just fiddle with the lumbar support, some other people i know with TL's have the same problem, ie when fast cornering.

But it's not noticable with music on, maybe i should just pump it up a little more, i'll get the dealer to investigate at next service
