Hey all!
My temp gauge (1990TP wagon) sits hard on cold most of the time and every now and again it shows 1/3 or there abouts for a minute or two then goes dead cold again, all thew other gauges are fine.
Is this a common problem?
Does anyone know where the probe is?
Also what is an average oil pressure for say 3000rpm as mine reads 90+PSI.
Thanx
It's on the passenger side of the inlet manifold. Single wire, I think it's yellow in TPs.

could be your 7v regulator too that controls the fuel and the temp gauges there a common thing too go

Thanx, yellow wire eh, I'll take a look in the morning. I dont think it is the 7v regulator as the fuel remains the same when the temp goes up and down.
Just out of interest is it illegal to make your own dash instrument cluster eg, put in your own speedo, tacho, blah, blah inplace of the originals?
Well, I replaced mine with one out of an Elite, and never had any trouble about it. As long as it works, and conforms to the relative design standards, I fail to see why not.

As far as im aware, it doesnt matter, just as long as everything is calibrated correctly, itll be right

Ok, I had a look 2day and gave the connector a wiggle and it fell off. Looks like its time to use the little alligator clips i nicked from school all those years ago.
