This is only for a 2nd Gen Diamante (US) or a 3rd Gen Magna (Aussie)

1. Start with removing the back seat coushin (the thing you sit on) by pulling 2 tabs directly under passanger side and driver side rear sear. The seat will un-clip and you can pull it directly out.

2. Now you have the seat out, you can tackle taking out the back rest. There are 3 bolts. 1 on the passanger side near the rear corner of where the coushin would set and where the back rest sits, 2nd is dead center, and 3rd is driver side corner. The 2 corners are 10mm i belive and the center is a 11 or 12 (forgot).

3. After the bolts are out, lift up on the back rest and it should pop out. There are hooks holding on to pins on the back rest, lift hard enough and these slide right out. After you have the hooks out, move the seatbelt around the backrest and take it out.

4. Next step is to take the bolt out that holds the center seat belt to the car. The bolt it a 15mm i think.

5. The are 3 or 4 plastic rivets holding the carpet onto the metal, pop those off using a flathead screwdriver. There are also 3 bigger plastic rivets (should be color coded to your interior color) holding the carpet on. Pop those out with a flat head screw driver also.

6. Now go into the trunk (or boot as its called in aussie land) and with a 10mm socket undo the 3 nuts holding the plastic speaker grill. There are 3 on each side. Once you un-did those you can go back into the cabin and pull the speaker grills out.

7. Now you can pull out the carpet and stock sound deading.

Replacing 6 x9's

8. There are 4 screws holding the stock speaker in. Phillps screws and are a pain in the ass. (excuse the langauge) The first 2 closest to you are easy its the rear 2 that suck. Your going to need a speical screw driver that is sorta in the shape of an S.

9. Once you have all those screws out go in the truck again and disconnect the stock speaker harness from the speaker. And pull the speaker out. Do the same to the other side and you have both out!

10. Drop the new speakers in and replace screws and tighten. Cut off the stock harness and find the pos. and neg. connect ( soder, crimp) whatever way you want to the aftermarket speaker terminals. Do the other side and you have new aftermarket 6x9s.

11. Replace everything in reverse order. And congrats.

HAHAHA!! I could of used this YESTRDAY!!! I just replaced my Kenwood 6x9s with focals on the rear shelf... Those speaker screws towards the back are a BEEEEEEEEEAAAARRTCH!!!

With regards to the wiring, the TF EXECUTIVE Magnas the yellow with blue stripe is the left "+", and the white with blue stripe is left "-", yellow with red stripe is right "+" and white with red stripe is "-".

I reckon it's a great idea to put this one in the FAQs because it is one of the first mods ppl normally do to their sound system. Great job mate!!!

To replace the rear 6x9's you dont need to remove the parcel shelf or the rear seats. You can just undo the nuts underneath, remove the covers and the 6x9's are easy to get to using a drill bit phillips head and plyers to undo the screws.

no avoid E-bay and start getting friendly with your local Focal retailer and then start selling off body organs.. I mean all the useless ones like Kidneys and Livers and possible a Spleen..
get the cash them go down and see them.. Or Just Visit FHRX website look at the price list as even Focal have to have some affordable gear..

Yeah... got mine off Ebay too. Brand new in box. Worked beautifully. Still... i must admit that getting them cheap through Ebay does come with a risk in case they arrive damaged and you gotta claim warranty. That can be a real hassle. But for the savings that i was getting, it was a risk i was well prepared to take.

I was told off a Pioneer rep that various companies (eg: Focal,Pioneer,JVC) sometimes make money by selling their warranty claimed stock (stuff that came back) onto secondary outlet stores, instead of wasting time repairing it themselves...

The stores (eg some Ebay trading companies) repair the product or "frankenstien" them and resell them onto the market.

Another marketing tactic is to "buy back" the superseded models and flood the market with the superseded stock a few months before a new product launch to ensure the "old" stock won't compete with the new stock (if you can get what I mean  )

Personally I don't have a problem with this, however they should list the items as "refurbished" stock instead of saying that they are new. Refurbished stock can only be covered by the selling company's warranty whereas the "new" stock can be covered by the original manufacturer warranty (which is better IMO).

I know of 2 ppl that have bought the Focal products off Ebay only to find that they both had mismatching serial no.s on the components.
Do all the serial no.s match up on the Focal splits that you have bought off Ebay?

why would you do all that when you can just unscrew the screws really easily without removing seats etc ?

unless you want to take the rear-parcel shelf out of the car and do it like that?
