95 TS stereo wires?? What wires do what? Plz help quick as it's getting dark and i'd like it done tonight.

im in some serious strife then! if there is no ground wire on the stock connector...THEN WHAT DID I WIRE THE UNITS GROUND WIRE INTO!!!????

seriously, i dunno...it seems to work...and its been in for some time now....now im puzzeld!!!! :nuts:

is yours is a 2nd gen, there should be a ground wire on one of the mouting screws. the stock hu is ground through the holding chassis and onto this ground via the mounting screw. hook your new HU upto that and life will be sweet :D

yeah mines a 2nd gen. i do have a black wire from the existing plug.
what does that wire do then?

from memory, there was a black wire just screwed to the frame of the car, should i put a ring connector on the earth wire on the HU and earth it to that???

did you cut the wires and reconnect? or just used an adaptor?

from memory, black was a speaker wire

also if the hu is going now, theres a fair chance its already grounded from the mouting chassis to the ground wire on the mounting screw. but you can never have enough ground.

btw, i did just cut and reconnect...maybe sorting the ground will get rid of the engine noise?? guess ill wait and see....

I didn't get to wire it tonight :( but first thing tomorrow it will. Getting all the splits installed and stuff. I got heaps off pics and i'll get pics of the wires too so we can settle this question once and for all.
