hey all

my car (4cyl TR magna manual) has been idleing rather high on first start around 2000-2500 rpm usually for a couple of seconds then drop to about 1800 and the revs start bouncing like the car is missfiring (ie from 1800 - 2000 and back continually)

does anyone have any ideas on what the causes of this could be i'd prefer to find out what the trouble is before taking it to mitsubishi or aything cos the dealership has wasted my money quite a bit before

Hows the ignition system, sparkplugs/dist cap / leads?

Also if you have your air con / heaters / de-mister etc it will make them go higher and usuall move about

let it idle for about 5-10 mins then see if it goes down
after that if its still to high addjust the idle and turn it down a bit.

replace the thermostat see if it makes a differance

How does it idle once it's warmed up? :think:
